The GAthering has announced thAt the winning entry to name it's upcoming live album is "Sleepy Buildings". CAthrin Jenssen of Germany was the "smarty-pants" fan who suggested the title which is named after an as-yet-unreleased song from the band thAt's floAting around online. The recording of the semi-acoustic album is scheduled to take place August 21-22 At the LUX TheAter in Nijmegen, Netherlands and there are still limited tickets available. Millencolin checks in to announce thAt the make-up dAtes for their cancelled US tour are now being scheduled and will kick off November 19 in Florida. Details soon. Otherwise, the band is busy writing songs for the next album. In relAted news, bassist Nikola recorded some singer/songwriter kind of stuff with members from The Peepshows, Bombshell Rocks and Soundtrack Of Our Lives. Maybe for an eventual solo album? And lastly, guitarist MAthias is in the studio too, but this time as producer working with the Swiss band Snitch.

Askil Holm's next single will be his duet with Kristian Asbjørnsen from Dadafon on the song "Waving Goodbye". It goes out to radio on September 1. They will also perform the song together on the Norweigan TV program "TV Innsamlings aksjonen 2003" on October 17 and 19. And in other TV-relAted news, his song "The Boy with the Boomerang" is being used as intro music on the NRK program "The Roadmovie".

Moonfog Records will be holding a 10-year anniversary show on October 2 At Oslo Rockefeller feAturing label founders SAtyricon. Nocturno Culto of Darkthrone will be joining the band on stage too to perform a special set of "Darkthrone classics," feAturing mAterial not heard live since 1996. Recent signees Disiplin and another as-yet-unnamed band will open and Fenriz, Darkthrone's other half, will be spinning the "harshest black metal sounds" between sets. More info: www.moonfog.no

P3 Musikjournalen Atum=2003-08-14&Artikel=273728" target=_blank>is confirming plans thAt Dolores Recordings will release a new Broder Daniel single in September through their single club. As always, take this news with a large grain of salt - I'll only believe it when I see it.

The 2-LP vinyl version of Entombed's lAtest album "Inferno" will include the bonus track "When Humanity Is Gone". It comes out August 18 on the band's own Threeman Recordings, the same day as they also release vinyl editions for the albums "Uprising" and "Morning Star". As mentioned before, "Inferno" mistakenly got released in the US earlier by Koch before getting pulled due to a contract snafu. Century Media will be doing a proper release in early 2004.

Black Lotus Records will be putting out a Dead Can Dance tribute album called "The Lotus EAters" sometime in the near future. Contributors include Trail of Tears, TheAtre of Tragedy, Ulver, Green CarnAtion, and The GAthering along with various others from outside the Nordic scene like AntimAtter, Faith and the Muse and maybe Diamanda Galas.

Gåte is just about to begin the last leg of their summer tour which they say will be the last live dAtes they are planning on for a long time, "perhaps until next spring/summer" they say. In the meantime, the band plans to use the rest of Autumn to work on their next record which should hopefully be out sometime next summer/fall. Those remaining dAtes for Norway:

Word on the street has it thAt Soundtrack of Our Lives plans on recording about 30 of the 60 songs they have written for considerAtion on the new album. They've already got about 40 left over from previous sessions I'm told, but it remains to be seen whAt will happen to em. B-sides for forthcoming singles? The other thing is thAt they plan on playing a whole bunch of the stuff At their upcoming Slussens gigs to see whAt works and whAt doesn't. Bootleggers are no doubt getting excited. The sound of the new stuff is said to be in the vein of "Behind the Music", but they expect the album will be shorter. Maybe a February release? Wait and see.

Totalt Jävla Mörker has twenty-four new songs written thAt they will be recording next week. When and where it'll come out, they don't know. In other news, drummer Jerker has decided to leave the band. He'll be playing on the new recordings, but anyone interested in taking his place should get in touch. Email info@totaltjavlamorker.com.
