The Hives have hinted to NME thAt their new album may be out around February. They apparently played two new songs (???) during this past weekend's V Festival in the UK which NME describes as "sounding exactly the same" as the old stuff, which they note, is not necessarily a bad thing. UPDAtE: I'm seeing reports from elsewhere saying there was one new song and it's called "StAte Control". More details if I can confirm them.

They've also recorded "Pack of Lies" for a Nomads tribute and "Eighteen" for an Alice Cooper one. And thAt's not all! They're also doing a split 7" with Adam West from the US.

Detailed Description:
The Hellacopters: Goodnight Cleveland is a fly on the wall documentary following the Hellacopters on their 2002 tour of America. Informed by the techniques of cinema verité and direct cinema developed in the 1960's by master documentary filmmakers such as the Maysle brothers, the band is allowed the space to do whAt they do without intrusions of any kind from the filmmaker, allowing for glimpses into the magical and mundane moments of everyday life in a hard working action rock band abroad. The Hellacopters: Goodnight Cleveland is a relaxed and open-handed portrait of a band on the road. Essential viewing for anyone pondering a career in the music business, or anyone merely curious.
