Daniel "Fagge" Fagerström (The Skull Defekts, The Je Ne Sais Quoi, ) has assembled a new 65m mixtape featuring a selection of his favorite Swedish experimental/noise cassette tracks, mostly from the last few years but also throwing in a few pre-millennium cuts. Featured artists include Alvars Orkester, Skeppet, Sewer Election, Joachim Nordwall and Altar of Flies, among many others.
Tight Silk is the brand new electro/pop solo project of Josefine Fagerström from The Je Ne Sais Quoi/Jenny Wilson and "Like a feather" is her debut single. No word on any sort of physical release yet, but expect more tracks to come down the line in the not-so-distant future.
A new 3-song EP from The Wild Shore, the current band of Jimmy Ottosson (ex-Torpedo/The Je Ne Sais Quoi/Will Gambola Sing) and Arvid Engström (ex-Wired for Mono).
CMG, the solo pop alias of Calle Malmgren from The Je Ne Sais Quoi, has a new album out this week via called "Homecoming". Preview at the label's website along with lead single "A love 4-ever": http://moptacodics.com/ (scroll down)

Careful, you're veering awfully close to funky jamband territory there and I doubt it'd take much to send y'all careening over the edge. Definitely picking up some early Red Hot Chili Peppers punk-funk vibes too, which I must admit, give me pause. Can't deny there's a proper time and place to bust out those sorta jams, though I'm not so sure that location exists in my life anymore. Still, despite "Protection" being merely a so-so track, I do actually like The Je Ne Sais Quoi's new record "Transparent for you all". Definitely rougher than 2007's "Rhythm" which I liked a lot; sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not. I'd say it's a transitional work.
reports that they'll be releasing the new Optic Nest LP "Entertainment" this summer along with the debut 7" "Distractions" from "funk-falsetto boyscout" CMG (also in The Je Ne Sais Quoi) plus a cassette from Evil Moisture. Samples via myspace: http://www.myspace.com/moptacodics
