The new Burek V album "Make up" will be released on June 8 via a collaboration between Rhythm Ace Recordings, A West Side Fabrication and Border Music. A video for the title track is being shot with Mats Nordqvist (Niccokick, etc.) and should be released soon.

The new "Jeans & Cover" compilation from Groover Recordings will be released on May 18. The disc contains seventeen Swedish artists performing a bunch of fun cover tunes. Check out the tracklist:

Live report: Niccokick @ The Barfly, London 02/11/05

David Fridlund will be doing two videos for his next single "White van". The first one will be animated and it comes from director Peter Johansson, who previously worked with David (and the Citizens) on the clip for "Song against Life". The second is by Anders Weberg (D&tC, The Mo, Niccokick) from Recycled Studio and was recorded at fellow Swedish act Thirdimension's rehearsal space. The release date for the single is February 21.

Niccokick, Existensminimum, Convoj and Band of Joy are among the first list of bands confirmed for this year's Emmabodafestivalen.

Willowtree has confirmed that they will be working with producer Ronald Bood (The Plan, Mando Diao, Niccokick, Keane) on their upcoming album. The group has spent the last few months doing preproduction and will enter the studio in February.

Niccokick are from Sweden, play fantastic angst ridden "lo-fi rock", and have previous to this full-length, released various eps, 7"s and a self made cd-r. This is a really good album and it contains plenty of excellent tunes, but it's also quite a disappointment, since too many of the songs feature on their other releases. It feels more as a best of disc than a new album. But if you've never heard Niccokick before, this album is a very good introduction and I think you should go out and get it (that is if you like your indie rock stuffed with catchy riffs and songs about not-feeling-too-old and drinking).
