Switchblade's new album has now officially been completed and will be released in Sweden in January via drummer Tim's own Trust No One Recordings. As mentioned before, the disc was tracked at Mission Hall with Mathias Oldén (Logh) manning the desk and will feature three songs clocking in at a total time of somewhere around forty minutes.

Still no official word on a tour yet, but hopefully something will come together soon. As said before, Logh is one my favorite bands, so of course the new album is highly recommended.
Logh is working on another European tour for January/February 2006. They also say that the 3rd 7" of their four-part series should be ready soon. All I wanna know is when they're gonna come to the US.
There's now a special microsite for the US release of Logh's latest album "A sunset panorama": http://www.asunsetpanorama.com/
It comes out September 27 via Hydrahead and you preview the entire album and one track from the DVD video at the site. One of this year's best albums.
German webzine Wennsrockt.de has posted a live video/interview with Logh: http://www.wennsrockt.de/index.php?id=5&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4&tx_ttnews[backPid]=19&cHash=aecd01a42f
The interview is in English btw.
The mighty Switchblade returns to the studio today to begin work on their next album. They'll be working at Mission Hall with Mathias Oldén (Logh) manning the desk. The new music is supposedly much darker, slower and heavier than ever before, but I can assure you that it'll at least be more epic - the entire tracklist of the record will consist of just three songs, clocking in around forty minutes total. Keep track of their progress at their online studio diary: http://www.trustnoonerecordings.com/studio/
Dutch music site RatatoskOnline has posted pics from the Dour Festival in Belgium featuring Jaga Jazzist, Madrugada, Logh and Sondre Lerche: http://gallery.ratatoskonline.net/view_album.php?set_albumName=Music
Gustaf Kjellvander has signed with Adrian Recordings after one album on Startracks with his band The Fine Arts Showcase. He's moving to England next week, but will be back in Sweden soon to record a new album with Mathias Oldèn of Logh producing and the esteemed Pelle Gunnerfeldt mixing.

I'm glad that Jake asked about the lack of gear shots because that totally bummed me out when I first saw the DVD of the new album.
Logh's latest album "A sunset panorama" has been assigned an official US release date of September 27 via Hydra Head Records. If they don't tour over here, I'm gonna have words with Aaron dammit. I've been waiting way too damn long for it to happen.
Some new live dates for Logh:
07/17 - Dour Festival, Dour (BEL)
07/26 - Cafe Trauma, Marburg (GER)
07/27 - Komma, Esslingen (GER)
07/28 - Winston, Amsterdam (NL)
07/29 - Minirock Festival, Olmen (BEL)
07/30 - Römer, Bremen (GER)
08/25 - Malmöfestivalen, Malmö (SWE)
Tenderversion also reports that Once We Were just wrapped up a recording session with Mathias Oldén (Logh) at Mission Hall. Six songs were recorded and the band plans to lay down some more acoustic/electronic/beat-based stuff on their own to pad the material for use on their forthcoming album.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Swedish post-rock is on the rise. Bands like Logh and Audrey are already receiving international attention, but there's also plenty of worthy up-and-comers. Caterpillar Ghost is one of those bands. The group has been around for quite awhile it seems, but the new EP "My beautiful revolution" that just came out last month on Signature Tune in the UK is my first exposure to them. Their sound doesn't exactly stick to the epic soundscape blueprint of GYBE! and the like - instead, they dabble in other stylistic modes and choose to mix things up with creative off-kilter rhythms and weaving guitar lines. The song I've posted today covers all the bases and shows just how versatile these guys can be. It's also worth noting that CPG features one-quarter of the members from fellow Swedish post-rockers Jeniferever who I understand are currently recording their debut album at Tonteknik in Umeå. Either that, or they will be soon if they aren't already done. Anyhow, that's another name to potentially watch out for in this genre. Wait and see!
