It's taken me over two months, but I've finally got a new streaming playlist for you. Check it out over in the article section on the right. Come to think of it, that was probably the last time I spent the day brewing beer, too. But I digress - selections this time around include new tracks from David Fridlund, Logh, Kristofer Åström and Convoj as well as demo stuff from Britta Persson and Plain Fade along with a bunch of other choice cuts from stuff I've been listening to. I admit it's not very lovey-dovey, but consider it my Valentine's day gift to you anyway.

I don't think I mentioned it yet because there isn't much there, but Logh has a microsite for the new album "A sunset panorama": http://www.badtasterecords.se/microsites/sunset_panorama/
The label has also just posted an mp3 for the full track "Destinymanifesto". Check it out right here: http://www.mejeriet.net/badtaste/mp3/logh_-_destinymanifesto.mp3
New mp3 today from Logh, one of the best bands in Sweden - no, fuck it - one of the best, most exciting bands in the world right now. I've debated with myself about posting a track from the new album "A sunset panorama" because it so very hard to separate the individual tracks from the work as a whole. I'd barely even call them songs, as they're more akin to chapters in a story - they just don't make nearly as much sense when isolated from the entire piece. It has taken me quite a few listens to really understand this album because there's just so much to take in and so much of it is so subtle. The band's sheer audacity to track the whole recording live in one 10-hour session would've been enough to merit acclaim from me, but that they completed the task with such brilliant results takes it to another level. When I listen to Logh, I'm filled with feelings of both dread and yearning - it's a sense of melancholy that eludes simple description but is totally captivating and overwhleming. Listening to one song is just a mere glimpse of their greatness - this is music that is meant to be absorbed and contemplated. One of the best albums of 2005? Yes, I have no doubt.
The cover art, tracklist and recording details have now been posted for Logh's brilliant new album "A sunset panorama": http://web.badtasterecords.se/records.asp?id=251
It doesn't officially come out until February 21, but leaked files are indeed making their way around. Anyhow, you'd be stupid not to buy it since it comes with a DVD of the album in 5.1 sound.
I don't think the finished product has been posted online quite yet, but American artist Stephen O'Malley (he also plays in the bands Sunn O))), Khanate, etc.) is the man responsible for the artwork of Logh's upcoming album "A Sunset Panorama". As mentioned here before, the entire disc was recorded live while being simultaneous filmed by five cameras. It was then mixed down in both stereo and 5.1 sound and will be packaged with a standard audio CD and a DVD for no extra cost. Release dates have been set for February 21 in Europe, February 23 in Sweden and March 7 in the UK. International touring will commence almost immediately, beginning with the UK in mid-February. Without a doubt, this is my #1 most anticipated release for 2005 and I can't wait to hear it. Hopefully I'll be getting confirmation regarding the US release very soon - it will happen - I've even been informed of the label, I'm just not sure when.
Switchblade is planning on recording something new in later spring/early summer. Otherwise, that tour 7" they put out a couple months ago with guest vocals from Mattias Friberg of Logh will be getting a US release via Deathwish/Icarus soon.
