I am now accepting preorders for the new KVLR CD. The It's a trap! US version of the album comes packaged in a nice, fancy digipack and will set you back just $10 if you live in the US. Find out more!
Is this Lallapalooza or what? The Chalksounds Festival is hitting the road once again for a show at Norrlands Nation in Uppsala on February 25 with KVLR and The End Will Be Kicks. Gunman (Soviac) and DJ Norrland will be spinning, too. KVLR will have the Stickman version of their new album that day, as they've confirmed the European release for February 24. As stated before, it'll be out on March 23 in the US through my very own It's a Trap! Productions. I just got the discs yesterday and they look absolutely stunning. See for yourself.
The Danish band Figurines will release their debut album "Shake a Mountain" in Germany, Austria and Switzerland through the label Pop-U-Loud this coming spring. The new CD will contain a remastered version of "The Detour" from the band's first EP as well as the video for the lead single "Bright". The band has also been confirmed as openers for KVLR on a few dates for their upcoming European tour in March.
I received confirmation that the KVLR CDs are done so I should be getting them in a day or two. Once I get my initial batch of promo stuff out of the way I'll start taking preorders. I also got to check out the video for "Slow Clapping" earlier today. We'll probably be putting it online soon.

KVLR has confirmed February 23 as the European release date for their new self-titled album through Stickman Records. Chalksounds will also be joining up with them for a super-limited edition vinyl version of 500 copies to be released in early March. The first single "Slow Clapping" is being pressed right now and should be sent out to radio later this month. Look for a video to come soon, too. Oh yeah, and one more thing: look for dates with Last Days of April in Sweden for February.
The masters for the upcoming KVLR album have been sent to the pressing facility and production is underway. I don't think I've mentioned it here yet, but the US version of the record will contain the same music as the Stickman-released European one, except it will be packaged in a fancy digipack. We're still on-track for a late March release and I expect that I should be able to start accepting pre-orders by the end of the month.
Get a preview of that new KVLR record via this e-card that I put together: http://www.itsatrap.com/kvlr/player/index.html
If you experience any technical difficulties, please let me know so I can try to fix it.
Stickman Records, the European label home of KVLR and Motorpsycho, has finally joined the modern age and gotten themselves a fancy new website. Lookin' good!
Next year:
So far, I'm looking forward to new releases from Kristofer Åström, Cobolt, C.Armeé, Sahara Hotnights, Soundtrack of Our Lives, Tiger Lou, Weeping Willows and of course, KVLR to name a few. There's also an album in the pipeline from The Hives that's sure to be hyped beyond belief. And then there's the international promotion of José González and The Concretes to look out for, as well as who knows what other flavor-of-the-month they might try to sell you. As always, you know where to come if you want to hear about it first.
