Bands confirmed so far for the upcoming "Chalksounds V/A Vol 1" compilation from Chalksounds records: Moonbabies, Starmarket, Alarma Man, The End Will Be Kicks, The Je Ne Sais Quoi, KVLR, Park Hotel, Ellis the Vaccuumchild and The Crystal Committee. Look for it in the spring.

Oh, and there's a new streaming radio show over on the right for those that are interested. Another new track from KVLR as well as some older favorites. Anyone out there willing to contribute their own playlist? Get in touch dammit.

My good friends KVLR got their new website up and running. Head on over to check out streaming versions of a few tracks from their upcoming self-titled album. "Traitors and Thieves" is my current fave, I'd have to say. As mentioned before, the record comes out at the end of January on Stickman in Europe and on my own damn label in March over here in the States.

Sad to say, but the time has come for those Randy live mp3s to go away. Sorry, but that's the way it goes. However, in it's place I've got a few more of those live Hederos & Hellberg tracks as well as a special new mp3 from KVLR. As some of you out there might've heard, It's a trap! is branching out into the record business and our first release will be the new self-titled album from these guys. "Slow Clapping" is the first single and Chalksounds will be putting it out as a 7" real soon. Stickman will be handling the release in Europe around January (I think) and I'll be getting it out in the US sometime around early March. Dates and more details coming soon!

As mentioned before, their new self-titled album comes out early next year and the first single "Slow Clapping" should be out really soon. i've heard it and of course I think it's brilliant. Chalksounds, one of my favorite Swedish labels, has announced the release schedule for the first half of next year. Of course, as mentioned before, The Moonbabies's new record "The Orange Billboard" is coming in January and is sure to amaze your ears. Next will be KVLR's new single "Slow Clapping" in limited 7" form. There's also a forthcoming album from ex-Him Kerosene band The End Will Be Kicks which is highly anticipated as well as a compilation CD featuring a whole bunch of acts, not all from the Chalksounds label. Label head Magnus told me a few of the acts he's gotten confirmed so far, but he's stubborn and doesn't want everyone to know yet so I guess I'll keep my mouth shut. For now.

KVLR has confirmed the tracklist for their new album and has told me that they will be entering the studio on Thursday to start mixing. Still no word on a title yet, but I'm sure that'll happen soon. Again, look for a single in November and the album in January. Songtitles for everything they recorded:

KVLR has confirmed that they will release a new single and video in November with the new full length album to follow in January. Ellis the Vacuumchild has updated their website with a new functional design. They have also confirmed the departure of drummer Joel who left to go play bass with my pals KVLR. Martin from the band Chloe has taken his place behind the kit. They've also brought on yet another Chloe member, Johan Wilhelm on guitar.

KVLR will be re-entering Komeda's studio this Saturday to continue working on their forthcoming album or, as they say, "making satan's music." Added a new mp3 today from Last Days of April. Their latest album "Ascend to the Stars" just came out over here in the US and the track "Playerin" is easily my favorite from that release. In fact, it was my favorite summer single last year. Y'know those songs you sometimes hear on the radio around this time of year that seem to embody the essence of summertime? That song fits the bill perfectly. And as for this year, my pick (so far) would probably have to be "Reconsider Me" from Moneybrother. I figure y'all were just dying to know.

Entombed has been forced to cancel their appearance at the BW&BK 6-Pack Weekend in Cleveland, Ohio on June 13-14 after drummer Peter Stjärnvind's wife was hospitalized. The cause of her ailments are still undiagnosed and of course Peter wishes to remain with her at this time. Guitarist Alex Hellid commented, "Peter is really upset by this. He doesn't want to be the cause of us not playing. We all know how important this show is/was. We are really sorry, for the fans and for ourselves, because we really wanted to play." Alex and frontman L.G. Petrov still plan to be in attendance at the fest to sign autographs and meet with fans. Other bands still scheduled to play include Evergrey, Trouble and Candlemass.

Nightwish has added a second date to their short US/N. American itinerary. After playing the ProgPower Festival in Atlanta on September 5 and at The Medley in Montreal, Canada on September 6, the band will play L'Amour in Brooklyn, NY on the 7th.

Okay, I think things here are pretty much back on track. After further discussion with my webhost it appears that yes, they bungled the switching of a hard drive this past weekend and lost about 5 days worth of database data. Luckily, Google had it cached and I've been able to recover most of it exactly as it was before. I'm still a bit peeved at the situation, but there's not much I can do. Anyhow, I only have one day's worth of data to recover and that ain't bad. Also, anyone who signed up for the newsletter after Monday needs to do so again, too. Parasol/Hidden Agenda Records will release Club 8's latest record "Strangely Beautiful" on June 17 in the US. It's the band's fifth album overall, the third to see a domestic stateside release. In care you didn't know, Parasol are the people who introduced The Soundtrack of Our Lives to the States along with other acts such as Thirdimension, Ronderlin, Acid House Kings, Starlet, Mans Wieslander, Permer, Lasse Lindh, and Waltz For Debbie.

IndieWorkshop lauds the US release of "C'mon Let's Pretend" from the Sahara Hotnights. If you thought the 2nd album (the first one released in the US) was good, you ain't heard nuttin.

Now streaming in mp4 format over at Black Box Recorder is Niko Skorpio's "Delta Amoeba" and "the SKORPIOns" EPs. The music is described as "the sonic experimentation and aesthetic of an underground noise album but somehow channels recent "electronica" without compromise. Imagine if trip-hop star Tricky gave up the reefer, moved to Finland, and got depressed and lost his mind... and you'll be on the right path." Sound intriguing, does it not?

Backyard Babies have confirmed that Joe Barresi will be the producer on their forthcoming album. Some of his previous credits include artists such as Sheryl Crow, Limp Bizkit, Monster Magnet, Kyuss, QOTSA, Hole and L7. Recording starts in Sweden in June with mixing to follow in LA.
