Top 10s for 2007: Björn Kleinhenz
Hey Avi. Think I'll do it right here right now. See what happens with it.
2007. I remember a few things that were somehow above average.
I remember the evening after the second night of Way Out West with you and me and a bunch of punk kids from my hometown screaming our necks off to Rancid, Gorilla Biscuits and Sick of it All. I remember Wednesday four weeks ago when we finally finished the mixing of the new album. I remember the feel of relief and the the taste of those couple of beers with my gal straight after putting the CD into the CD slot of her computer.
I remember sitting in Swiss trains a few weeks back reading Sture Dahlström and laughing out loud. I remember waking up a few hours later in the middle of nowhere on a huge vegetable farm not remembering how I got there. I remember walking two blocks in two hours with Yrsa through Majorna stopping to play with every dog we met. Completely disregarding their masters. I remember waking up in a hotel in Basel not being able to find the box with all the band money and almost shitting my pants until walking into the shared shower room and finding it on the floor. I remember the six am slave faces on the bus to work every morning. The quiet mutual pity. The fake pride of paying your dues.
I remember the good things and the bad things. And nothing inbetween. Cos we hate the inbetweens. We hate routine and we hate seeing ourselves jade.
Let's not. Let's keep on acting as if writing a 2007 conclusion for an obscure American e-zine really mattered. Cos then it does. I am sure.
Take care of them dogs Avi. And be sure to send me a picture when you're all done with the garden. I just moved into a new flat two weeks ago. It's pretty good. Expensive, but at least it's a place of my own.
Ok. Here comes my brother through the door. Love / B
