Top 10s for 2004: Magnus Bjerkert (David & the Citizens)

Top 10 David & the Citizens shows

01. 9/2 The Grammy award (S)
Ok, we didn't play but the party felt like we did it. One of the best party nights ever. David & the Citizens was really a band this night. And Jason was there.

02. 21/2: at Molotow - Hamburg – (D)
Not so much for the show itself but the atmosphere and the late night made it to second place. This was the first night we met our German label Molotow and we where both in love.

03. 14/8: at Vinterbadarna, Rasslebygd, Emmaboda (S)
Ok, it was a sell out but a god one and with that audience nothing could go wrong. The good reviews in the press afterwards were encouraging as well. This was also the last show for a long while in Sweden. It's also great to full fill everything with exacta musicians. We where 8 persons on stage. David & the Citizens goes Wall of Sound.

04. 27/5: at Blå – Eskilstuna (S)
Small clubs are always the best. No monitor system, small stage, small room. It was pure energy and sweat. Raw pop energy.

05. 8/10: at Atomic Cafe, Munich (D)
Compact crowd. We where all tired from long days on the road but coming to this wonderful place with such wonderful staff and crowd just made us mental. I don't remember anything more that heat and whiskey. I don't think Alexander remembers anything.

06. 16/5: at Blæst, Trondheim (N)
The last show on the wonderful Norway tour. The house was full and we where exactly tired enough to just not care. We didn't play good atall. David kept forgetting the lyrics but we were all in love this night. I would love to go back to Norway. It was so nice to be on the road withmy girlfriend. I wish she could be with us on all our tours.

07. 5/6: at Spot 10 Festival, Aarhus (DK)
Everything was strange. The stage was like placed in a hangar. The sound was probably awful. But once we where up on stage, everything just made sense. We played like we really had to proof every single tone and phrase. It became a late night in Denmark. Me and David from Laakso couldn't find our hotel. It was close to the church.

08. 30/01: at The Spitz London (UK)
It is always nice to play in London. I'm longing to go back there. This night was good because it felt like even though we weren't the main act everyone was there for us. And for a while it was so close for us to play Glastonbury festival and this night we really thought so.

09. 7/10: at Atomino, Chemnitz (D)
Chemnitz is my favourite former east-Germany town. Before the war it was known as "Karl Marx stadt" it says it all. We played for almost 2h and people wanted more. The place looks like a squat house but it feels like there trying to do something pretty of all the grayishness.

10. 12/10: at Indiego Glocksee, Hanover (D)
We hade played like hooligans for a couple of days in a row and when we saw this cool house and small stage we decided that we should try to slow down a bit and try to be musicians for a change. It became one of our best played shows ever. Intense but controlled and it was really satisfying.

Worst:

01. 29/5: at Popaganda – Stockholm (S)
We shouldn't have played at all. Forgive us.

02. 13/10: at Scandinavian House, Prague (CZ)
I wasn't even there. My compassion goes out to David & Sara. Forgive us.
