The best head ever

What do you get when you combine Steve Baise of the Devil Dogs and two members (Happy-Tom and Euroboy) of Turbonegro? ROCK. Pure, simple, unadulterated rock. This two-disc collection should not disappoint fans of either bands. The first disc covers the Vikings' catalog while the second disc is from a live set at Last Train in Oslo from 1995. Songs such as "My friend's little sister", "Rock all" and "Savage" sound like they should be in a jukebox at a bar somewhere. the band even manages to throw in a few covers as well (Cheap Trick's "Surrender" and the Dictators "Next big thing"). Good stuff.

Just Add Water Records has just put out a special double disc retrospective collection from the classic garage rock act The Vikings. In case you never heard of them, they were the band that Stevie Baise started after the Devil Dogs with Knut "Euroboy" Schreiner (Turbonegro), Thomas "Happy Tom" Seltzer (Turbonegro) and Morten Henrikson (The Yum Yums). The record contains the band's one and only full-length album "Go beserk" along with an EP and two singles. Disc two consists of a full live show from the Oslo nightclub Last Train. Tons of great stuff, from Turbonegro to Satyricon to Frost and Biosphere.
Maryslim will be putting out a new MCD called "My time" on Wild Kingdom later on this spring featuring the album track of the same name from their most recent release "Split vision". B-sides will include the exclusive cuts "Down & out" and "What it takes" as well as the Kiss cover "C'mon and love me" and the Turbonegro classic "No beast so fierce". A video is in production for the lead track with director Charlie Granberg and will be included on the disc as well.
Scum, the all-star Norwegian band featuring members from Emperor, Turbonegro and Amen, are currently having their debut album mixed for release via Dog Job Records. I don't any other details yet, but some of you might recognize the label name as the same people who put out the Turbonegro "Never is forever" record.
