This is a full stream of Plain Fade's awesome (emphasis on awe) new album "Anthropogonia", out now on . I've long thought the band was brilliant from the time I first heard them, but this is on a whole new level. Direct link: http://soundcloud.com/plainfade/sets/anthropogonia/
Tracks from the new Plain Fade album "Anthropogonia" are now (finally!) streaming at myspace: http://www.myspace.com/plainfade
In case you forgot, "Anthropogonia" is a symphonic album collaboration with Helsinki-based, 50-voice choir WiOL led by conductor/mezzosoprano Jutta Seppinen with a libretto written in Ancient Greek by Ilmari Kavén. I've been eagerly awaiting this record for two years now.
Finnish avant-rock act and "Reader's companion" alums Plain Fade will be releasing their new album "Anthropogonia" via this coming fall. Said album is a continuation of the group's collaboration with the WiOL-choir that performed live last November in Helsinki.
Uh, why didn't anyone tell me that Plain Fade wrote a symphony? See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bZwhOLA77M
Punos Sound (Plain Fade) will be releasing the new self-titled album from Suuri Voima on April 15. The album was produced and recorded by Jarkko "Pepe Trouble" Heiniö of Tigerbombs/King of All the Animals and you can now hear three tracks at myspace: http://www.myspace.com/suurivoima
Plain Fade vocalist/guitarist Juho Koivuaho has been diagnosed with leukemia and is currently being treated at Tampere University Hospital. Results so far have been positive and of course I wish him well in his recovery. As for the rest of the band, they've got new songs written and have plans to put together a new album, but of course everything is currently on hold until Juho is better.
Bassist Juho Salmi has left Finnish experimental/postrock act Plain Fade to concentrate on his own other projects. The band will continue on as a four-piece and is currently working on their third album.

Finnish rock act Fume has decided to call it quits and has posted the final two songs they recorded for free download: http://www.fumeband.com/
Bassist Juho Salmi will continue on with his work in IAT favorites Plain Fade while the rest of the band can now be heard in A Thousand Bright Tomorrows. Listen to them here: http://www.myspace.com/athousandbrighttomorrows
The Silent Ballet does not like Plain Fade at all: http://thesilentballet.com/dnn/Reviews/2007/January/tabid/81/ctl/Details/mid/442/ItemID/253/Default.aspx
Seems like the record was too esoteric for the reviewer to get into.
Finnish post-rock masters Plain Fade have posted their old demo discs for free download: http://www.punossound.net/plainfade/index.php?goto=releases
"Datura" was the first track I heard from these guys and it completely blew me away so of course this stuff is all very highly recommended.
