All-star Swedish label collective will release new albums from both Kriget and Woodlands this fall: http://www.ingrd.com/2012/first-news-for-fall/ Kriget, as mentioned before, is the instrumental act of Per Nordmark (Fireside, Britta Persson, etc.), Crille Roth (Monster, Hets) and Gustav Bendt (Moneybrother, Club Killers). Woodlands, on the other hand, features Sara Wilson (First Floor Power), Niklas Korssell (Tutankamon, The Plan) and Marcus Holmberg (Komeda).
It's a Trap! Clubnights for the fall season are starting to be confirmed and we've already got We Are the Storm coming on September 24 and then Kriget + Like Rats from a Sinking Ship on October 1. November is almost confirmed as well with a killer Norwegian act and I'll be sure to fill you in as soon as it's ready for public dissemination. Also, more crucially imminent: Into the Woods, the new band of Sara Wilson (First Floor Power, Kitchen and the Plastic Spoons), has been added to the bill on July 16 with Kajsa Grytt! If you find yourself near Malmö on any of those dates, you know where to go!
I Am Bones' contribution to the upcoming Crunchy Frog 15th anniversary comp featuring current Danish acts covering tracks from the label's back-cataglogue is now streaming at myspace: http://www.myspace.com/iambonesband
After attempting a Raveonettes song and then Junior Senior, they settled on "Lovesong" by First Floor Power in a version they describe as "Timberlake vs funk-Meshuggah." The entire collection "Saluting the Crunchy Frog-a-logue" comes out September 5.
Crunchy Frog's upcoming 15th anniversary concert will apparently be Epo-555's farewell performance. Full details: http://blog.crunchy.dk/post/15-YEARS-COME-AND-POP-OUR-CHERRY.aspx
UPDATE: didn't notice it before, but apparently Jenny Wilson will also be rejoining her old bandmates First Floor Power for this gig as well.
I had no idea: classic Swedish postpunk act Kitchen and the Plastic Spoons have enlisted Sara Wilson (First Floor Power) as their new bassist and are playing at Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm tomorrow, April 28. And it's free! Details: http://www.ollehuge.com/test/?p=228
