Fatboy - Walk your way (video)

"Walk your way" is the first single from Fatboy's upcoming album "Love Creole", due out September 26 via Razzia Records.

New Fatboy album coming in September

Swedish rockabilly act Fatboy has announced that their new album "Love Creole" will be released on September 26 via Razzia Records. The first single "Walk your way" will be out on August 27 and will be available both as a digital download and a limited 7".

Fatboy pays tribute to Orbison

Fatboy recently went into the studio to record a pair of Roy Orbison covers as a tribute to what would have been the man's 75th birthday: http://fatboy.se/2011/03/the-orbison-session/
The tracks they chose were "Mean woman blues" and "The actress", but as for when/how they'll be released, that's yet to be revealed.

Fatboy - Bad news from pretty red lips

This is the new Fatboy single "Bad news from pretty red lips", to be officially released on September 15. The clip seems kind of an odd choice to me as none of the action is synced to the song, but I do actually like the way it sounds, much more than anything on their last album. Anyhow, as mentioned before, the band's new album "Overdrive" will be out October 6 via Razzia Records.

Fatboy's upcoming third album "Overdrive", their first under new label Razzia Records, will be released on October 6.

Fatboy signs with Family Tree

Swedish rockabilly act Fatboy has signed with Family Tree Music for the release of their third album, due out this fall.

Fatboy are one of few Swedish rockabilly bands that have been successful in reaching a broader audience. Their second album "In my bones" varies a lot; they start off playing straight rockabilly on the album's first single "Way down low" and then change to something more Sinatra-like in "Springtime". They are reminiscent of Weeping Willows at times too, especially in the way they combine rockabilly with a more alternative sound. They mix their music with jazz as well as pop, but still create a classic distinguished sound that tells the listener that this is Fatboy and nothing else... Even if it might look like it's just the usual stand-up bass supported trip back the 50's, there is enough creativity and effort put in for the album to avoid becoming nostalgic. The record is very well done and makes even a person like me that is not very interested in rockabilly to smile and sing along.
