Somewhat typical Swedish hard-rock ala the Backyard Babies. I'd probably like this a bit more if they beefed up the guitar tone and tuned down a bit to make their sound heavier. They could possibly even compete with Entombed if they tried, especially with the kinds of half-tempo breakdowns they throw in. As for now, they firmly reside in the realm of the mediocre and generic.

Instead of announcing new bands one act at a time, the people behind the Hole in the Sky Festival have decided to squash the rumors and just announce the whole thing. Acts confirmed so far are Glenn Danzig (US), Entombed, Vader (POL), Katatonia, Aura Noir, Zyklon, Susperia, 1349, Manes (GER), Keep of Kalessin and Disiplin.
Alpha Safari (aka Washoe), the side project of Entombed guitarist Uffe Cederlund with three ex-members of Misery Loves Co.. have confirmed that they will release an album in August on Threeman Recordings. The first single "Disappear" should already be available.
The long-awaited US edition of Entombed's latest album "Inferno" comes out August 10 on Candlelight Records and will now include a bonus disc called "Averno". "Averno" will feature two previously unreleased songs from the "Inferno" sessions as well as the vinyl-only bonus track "When Humanity's Gone". The disc will also be loaded with video tracks for "Retaliation" and "Albino Flogged In Black".
Swedish female hardrockers Misdemeanor are reportedly hard at work on a new album entitled "High Crimes & Misdemeanor", due out this fall from GMR Music. As with their self-titled debut from 2002, the record is being produced by Alex Hellid of Entombed.
Threeman Recordings, the label run by some of the guys from Entombed along with Daniel Strachal, has signed a North American licensing deal with Candlelight Records. They'll be reissuing the label's catalogue over here, starting with Entombed's latest record "Inferno" in August. "We feel very pleased to finally have this deal up and running," commented Daniel, "And with a strong partner like Candlelight we hope that we can finally get our sought-after albums released properly stateside, especially Entombed, who has been shamelessly underexposed overseas since "Wolverine Blues". We have also received great interest for [Entombed side project] Murder Squad and The Project Hate. Our goal has always been availability and finally we and Candlelight can deliver." Entombed is also planning to tour the States in support as well. More details when I get them.
Entombed will tour Australia in April:
04/07 – Waterloo Hotel, Brisbane
04/09 – The Gaelic Club, Sydney
04/10 – The Corner Hotel, Melbourne
04/11 – Fowler Live, Adelaide
04/13 – The Lookout, Perth
Daysend will the openers for every show.
"You Are A Dead Box" and "Failures" are the names of the two tracks that C.Aarmé just recorded with Uffe (Entombed) and Tompa (Disfear).
Entombed has confirmed the departure of bassist Jörgen Sandström:
"Jörgen has decided to quit touring and left the band on good terms. It this does not mean that Jörgen will leave the music business as he is still a member of the bands The Project Hate & Krux and will still be involved with the Threeman label and the Entombed homepage."
Bassist Jörgen Sandström has left Entombed and been replaced by Nico Elgstrand (ex-Terra Firma). No official reason has been given for the move yet, but I suspect he wants to concentrate on his other band The Project Hate? Or maybe not - members from that band have other projects too, such as Dark Funeral and God Among Insects. As for Elgstrand, he works a lot as a producer and his credits include the Entombed albums "Uprising" and "Morning Star".

Speaking of C.Aarmé, they'll be teaming up with Uffe (Entombed), Tompa (Disfear, ex-At the Gates, etc.) and everyone's best friend Satan to record two new songs later this month.
God Among Insects is the name of a new all-start Swedish old-school style death metal band featuring Emperor Magus Caligula (Dark Funeral), guitarist Lord K (The Project Hate), bassist Tomas Elofsson (Santification) and drummer Tobias Gustafsson (Vomitory). Ideally, the band plans to head into Abyss Studios with producer/engineer Tommy Tägtgren in March to record their debut album for Threeman Recordings, the label run by members of Entombed.
