It's taken me over two months, but I've finally got a new streaming playlist for you. Check it out over in the article section on the right. Come to think of it, that was probably the last time I spent the day brewing beer, too. But I digress - selections this time around include new tracks from David Fridlund, Logh, Kristofer Åström and Convoj as well as demo stuff from Britta Persson and Plain Fade along with a bunch of other choice cuts from stuff I've been listening to. I admit it's not very lovey-dovey, but consider it my Valentine's day gift to you anyway.

David Fridlund doing his solo thing, but his band David & the Citizens aren't exactly taking time off either according to drummer Mikael Carlsson. They're currently working on new material in rehearsal and hope to record something this summer. The music is said to be "approaching darker and harder sides but the music is still very melodic and hummable."

Streaming Playlist: Now playing

David Fridlund will be doing two videos for his next single "White van". The first one will be animated and it comes from director Peter Johansson, who previously worked with David (and the Citizens) on the clip for "Song against Life". The second is by Anders Weberg (D&tC, The Mo, Niccokick) from Recycled Studio and was recorded at fellow Swedish act Thirdimension's rehearsal space. The release date for the single is February 21.

David Fridlund will release "White van" as the next single from his debut solo album "Amaretsu". The disc will be a family affair as it will include "Days That Can Be Ours" from main squeeze Sara Culler and "Bluelipscold" from his brother Joel as b-sides. Look for it on February 21. In other news, Japan's 1977 Records has licensed "Amaretsu" for release and will include the songs "Dollhouse" and "It's all Right, I'm on Your Side" as bonus tracks. 1977 will also be putting out a self-titled David & the Citizens collection featuring a wide selection of the band's catalogue. Here's the tracklist:

01. Betina
02. Let Me Put it This Way
03. Norway, America. Australia
04. Made of Words
05. Of Black n' Blue All Over
06. Glued to the Light
07. STOP!
08. Everything You'll Never See
09. Your Cool Entrance
10. Christmas Eve
11. Big Chill
12. Family Gathering
13. Summer in No-man's-land
14. Time is Nothing
15. Let's Not Fall Apart (EP - Version)
16. Paulie (It's the Work of Evil Minds)
17. Kellerman's Song
18. You're an Angel
19. Brother

No word on when those will be released, but I'm sure I'll get more details soon.

Even though David Fridlund is just about to release his debut solo album, David & the Citizens are most definitely not facing retirement. The full band has been keeping up with steady rehearsals and will be playing a special concert on December 10 at Loppen –in Köbenhavn, Denmark as part of a Morningside Records label night. The band plans to premiere a ton of new material, so it's not to be missed. Other acts on the bill include Delicia Mini, My Friend George and Nikki Sudden.
