Icelandic act Seabear will release their new album "We built a fire" sometime around February/March 2009. Expect a two-song 7" preview to come in December.

This is the sound of old dudes getting back to their roots and it's actually pretty damn good -- far better than you might expect even. There are also new tracks from DLK and Bonafide up there as well, but they are far less exciting.

Swedish indie act Shout Out Louds report that they're nearly finished with their new album "Work" which they have been recording with producer Phil Ek (Built to Spill, Band of Horses, The Shins) both at Bear Creek Studio in Woodinville, WA and also back home in Stockholm. No word on a release date yet, but I wouldn't expect anything until early 2010 at least.
Thåström will commemorate 20 years as a solo artist with a new compilation box entitled "Be-bop-a-lula hela jävla dan!" featuring song selections from his vast career, a DVD with 6 songs recorded live at Olympen in Lund back in 2006, a bonus disc of recordings called "Kompost" featuring covers of Dan Andersson's "En spelmans jordafär" and early Swedish punk act Garbochock, plus a new interview with DN writer Georg Cederskog which will also be appearing in an upcoming book about the artist. The official release date is November 25.
Sonic Ritual's new 12" "Mother Hearse", originally slated for release last March via US label Tankcrimes before they went broke, will now be released by German label High-Roller Records in November, the same people that handled their recent split Sanctuary in Blasphemy. UK-based female-centric mag Wears the Trousers is launching a record label imprint whose first release will be a comp entitled "Beautiful star: The songs of Odetta", an tribute to American folk legend Odetta Holmes aka the "Queen of American folk music". Senza Tensta, the solo alias of Jonas Rosén (ex-Asterisk*/Female Anchor of Sade), has two new releases out now on Kalligrammofon. First is the 7" "Skull of Sade II", a dubbed-out retake of the Female Anchor of Sade track from 2001, and the second is "Big bear small bear", a C30 cassette featuring two long tracks.
