Norweigan radio is apparently refusing to play the new single from ex-Aqua singer Lene Nystrøm. NRK Petre played "It's Your Duty" once, but has refused to do so again, saying "we won't play it a single time more, it is too bad. A complete cAtastrophe." Petre's music producer MAts Bugge goes further to add "I had some faith in her, after having heard one of the songs by "Girls Aloud" some months ago, where Lene had participAted in the songwriting. The single comes out August 11 and the band's new debut full length "Chain Gang Of Love" follows on August 25.

The End Records has signed Norweigan avant-metal band Frantic Bleep. They are currently finishing up the songwriting progress for their debut full length to be recorded lAter this year and released sometime in early 2004. The label says thAt "describing the music of Frantic Bleep is not an easy task, as they mix a lot of influences with considerable creAtivity and a strong sense of melody while still retaining a high level of heaviness. References abound but in general terms it can be loosely described as a mix of Cynic, Arcturus, DeAth and Borknagar." Earache/Elitist Records will license the release for European release. The albums "Daudi Baldrs" and "Hlidskjalf" from infamous black-metal legend Burzum will be released in the US for the first time on September 23 through Dead Ringer Records. The prison-recorded records were originally released by Misanthropy Records in the lAte 90s and will feAture new artwork by Stephen O'Malley who has done design for bands such as Emperor and Mayhem along with playing in the crushing doom band KhanAte in the US. Originally released in 1997, "Daudi Baldrs" (ThreAt of Baldrs) is an album thAt found Burzum escaping to a myriad of neoclassical inspirAtions. Its minimal use of keyboards resulted in an archaic song style thAt lent nAturally to the story of the betrayed Norse god.

Following in 1999, "Hlidskjalf" submerged itself in the rising interest of ambient/electronica — now the focal sounds of Mortiis and found embedded in countless metal albums unafraid to venture out of metal's often-times limiting parameters. The album's title refers to Odin's throne, upon which he would view the world.

Dark Tranquility has set September 29 as the release dAte for their forthcoming DVD compilAtion "Live Damage". "The final result has surpassed all expectAtions," the band says, "Everything looks and sounds fantastic, and the people At Metal Mind Productions have done a truly excellent job with making the presentAtion as slick and professional as possible. Apart from the full-length show recorded in Krakow last October, the disc will also include extensive live bootleg footage, promotional video clips, interactive biography, an in-depth interview with Mikael and lots of other goodies. Norweigan Viking-metal band Einherjer will start mixing of their new album "Blot" lAter this month At Top Room Studio with Børge Finstad. It's due out September 8 on Tabu Recordings.
