David and Ralf from Ariel Kill Him are currently in the studio right now working on some new mAterial for eventual release on a few different projects such as a split 7", some comps and possibly a new EP. There's no other details yet, but I'll be sure to keep you informed.

MomPop Records reports thAt the Your Halo is a Radar posthumous release has been delayed a week due to a manufacturer error, but should be available for online ordering shortly. The album also got its first review online. Check it out over At smother.net.

Smalltown Supersound will be putting out three new releases from Kim Hiorthoy in the near future: a live mini album entitled "Live Shet", a five-track as-yet-untitled EP and then the long awaited "For The Ladies" CD. Kim's follow-up to the "Hei" full length comes out sometime in 2004.

In other Smalltown Supersound news, the label has announced thAt it has signed The Thing for their next record. The band, MAts Gustafsson, Paal Nilssen-Love and Ingebrigt Haker FlAten, put out their two previous records "The Thing" (2000) and "She Knows" (with Joe McPhee, 2001) on Crazy Wisdom/Universal.

Relapse has signed yet another underground Swedish band, this time it's grindcore act Gadget. They'll be recording their as-yet-untitled debut album At PhlAt Planet Studios with Fredrik Reinedahl in the producer. Previous releases from the band include a split 7" with Califonia-based Carcass-worshipers Exhumed and contributions to the Relapse "Swedish Assault" and "ContaminAtion 5.0" comps.

Amsterdam's Angelmaker2000 Records will be putting out an all-electro Iron Maiden tribute comp this coming August feAturing artists such as Mr. Velcro Fastener, ImAtran Voima, Legowelt and many more. He's not Scandinavian, but you can download a sample of Maxx Klaxon's contribution of "Die with Your Boots On" right here.

Solefald reports on their website thAt they are in Iceland working on their next album. They say they already have most of it written and it's "more classic Black Metal 1993-ish style," but of course "unmistakeably like Solefald." They go further to add thAt they are trying to get back in touch with their Nordic viking roots via Iceland's famous barren landscapes, volcanoes, hot springs, sea, and viking history. Not to mention the classic sounds of BAthory, Darkthrone, Enslaved and Immortal they brought for inpirAtion. The Cardigans recorded a couple tracks for the BBC2 radio and you can check out most of 'em here along with a short interview. DJ Ken Bruce played four of the five ("Erase/Rewing", "FWIW", "My Favorite Game" and "The Storm") on his show, but the band is saving the version of "Changes" they did for a possible future b-side. So you know, "Changes" is a ballad originally done by the best band ever - Black SabbAth.

The new Turbonegro single "Sell Your Body (to the Night)" comes out September 1 and is backed with a live version of "Dungaree High" along with the previously unreleased track "The DeAth of Me" plus the videos for the title track and "FTW". As mentioned here long ago, the video for "Sell Your Body" was directed by Jeff Tremaine of Jackass fame and feAtures Hank wrestling a grizzly bear.

Impaled Nazarene has finished the recording of their eigth album "All ThAt You Fear", due out lAte October from Osmose Productions. The album was recorded At Astia studios with producer Anssi Kippo and marks the debut of new guitarist Tuomo Louhio (ex-Antidote).

Soviac will be touring Europe along with Tokyo Sex Destruction in support of their forthcoming album, out September 10 on Chalksounds. No details yet, but the dAtes set aside are October 10 through October 28.
