Danish "donkeypunk" band Powersolo report that they have recently signed with Crunchy Frog (Junior Senior, The Raveonettes) and are hard at work on their new album, tentatively due out in February next year. They say the sound will be "a mix of punkrock, pop, country and western, rockabilly and... God knows what else."

Via Voidfaith comes word that Eye Will Drown and Rättviseakademin will be putting out a compilation together on November 1 called "Reagera - agera" as a protest against globalization. Featured on the comp will be these eighteen Swedish bands: Akkurat (Lidköping), Asphalt (Göteborg), Anti Control Action Band (Lidköping), Amalthea (Gislaved), C.Aarmé (Göteborg), Den Siste Baronen (Lidköping), Dustscape (Luleå), Feeble (Falun), Mist orchestra (Göteborg), Sheltek (Karlstad), St Laura (Stockholm), Target Point (Karlstad), Traktor, (Eskilstuna), The Sound o.e (Eskilstuna), The Fallout Boys (Luleå), The Lolita Stasi Collective (Göteborg), The Eitsoul Ashes (Falköping), and The Grizzly Twister (Gävle). Tiamat has completed work on their new video for the single "Cain" with director Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company. Said single comes out September 29 through Century Media and will include a radio edit of the main track along with the b-side "Love In Chains" and an exclusive cover of "Sleeping (In The Fire)" by WASP. The whole thing will be packaged in a digipak with artwork by mainman Johan Edlund. Tiamat's next full length, "Prey", comes out October 27.
Yet another less-than-enthusiastic review of the new album "Halldor Laxness" from Iceland's Minus. Their impressive debut garnered all sorts of accolades across the board, but I've yet to see anything all that positive written about the new one.

Swedish melodic hardcore band Misconduct have announced they have just signed with the Canadian label Union 2112, a member of Union Label Group. Look for a North American release of the band's most recent album "United As One" on February 24 with a tour to follow over here on these shores in spring.
