Might as well turn this into an annual tradition; you get what you deserve: "No presents for Christmas"
I'll continue to post top 10 lists every day until 2010, but don't expect regular updates to pick up again until January 4. In the meantime, I'll be polishing up a few small changes on the site revamp I have in the works and will be enjoying some much-needed time off. Happy holidays!
Danish goth-rockers The Silent Section have a new EP coming out December 24 via called "The curtains come down in flames". Said EP will feature 4 brand new unheard tracks recorded the same time as recent album "A final delirium" for a total of 40 minutes and will either be available in a limited edition of 30 hand-numbered copies or as a free download via the label's website.
Danish label will be doing a 5-way split 7" featuring some of the best DK hardcore going right now: Death Token, Night Fever, Love Potion, Ripping Headache and Hjertestop. No idea exactly when that's happening, but soon...
Popsicle Recordings has posted 10 volumes of Swedish/Scandinavian pop samplers for free download: http://www.popsiclerecordings.com/samplers/
These were originally distributed as freebies with orders to Popsicle's distro, but since the bottom has fallen out of the CD market (for most of us), they are no longer being made.
I'm not all that into Christmas and I'm definitely not into Christmas music, but I do like Champagne Riot so I'm giving them a pass. Their Xmas single "Xmas safari" isn't as, well, anthemic as "The champagne anthem", but it's not as if that's a big surprise. Instead, we get loping bassline and a tale of holiday woe, so thank goodness for that because I cannot handle the usual forced cheer. So here you go, just in time for Channukah (begins tomorrow, hope yr gifts to me are already on their way), a present from them to me to you.
