The new book/cd project "århus:nu" spotlighting the scene of Århus, Denmark is now done. It's 110 pages and covers local bands such as Under Byen, Tiger Tunes, Powersolo, Strumm, Singvogel & Peter Laugesen, Sofus Forsberg, Kurve, Jab Mica Och El and The Defectors along with labels and promoters like Morningside Records, Noisejihad, Bird Hits Plane Records, LJUD and Skand-All. The CD contains tracks from those same bands, of course. More info: http://www.aarhus-nu.dk/

The band is also rumored to be releasing a live record on vinyl soon as well as a European tour in May. Details soon.

Denmark's The Defectors hold the honor of having the 'Coolest Song In The World' on Little Steven's (Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, The Sopranos) syndicated radio show Underground Garage. The track is called "It's Gonna Take Some Time" and the show can be heard across the US on some 120 different stations or via the web: http://www.littlestevensundergroundgarage.com/
Some of the Scandinavian acts who held the same honor earlier include The Raveonettes, The Flaming Sideburns and Soundtrack Of Our Lives.

The new issue of Lowcut Magazine is online and features interviews and reviews with Silver, The Defectors, Gas Giant and tons more Scandinavian ditry rock n' roll: http://www.lowcut.dk/012_lc/front/index.asp

It looks like I can now confirm the lineup for the upcoming Norway/Denmark showcase happening at SXSW this year. It's gonna be Under Byen (DK), Thomas Dybdahl (NOR), El Caco (NOR), Hush (DK), The Defectors (DK) and Silver (NOR). It's set to go down March 20 at Carribean Lights, but remember that big events like these are always subject to change.
