The Bombettes have announced that Jenka Nilsson has been added to the band as new guitarist, so expect them to start playing shows again soon starting with a local gig at Verket in Umeå on May 24. In other news, their excellent "What's cooking good looking?" 7" will be repressed on red vinyl with a new 4-track 7" to follow soon as well.

The Bombettes have recorded four new songs for an upcoming 7" as well as two new Swedish-language tracks to be included on an comp being released by Ny Våg which is currently being mixed and mastered. More details to come.

Compare and contrast: the lack of enthusiasm I bemoaned in yesterday's post on Jonas Game has nothing to do with The Bombettes. The 4-track "What's cooking good looking?" EP is a near-perfect, unstoppable force. They bulldoze through each song with raw fury. When they declare "I wanna kick your ass", I have no doubt that they'll be true to their word. Loud, brash and snotty; this is yet another Umeå band showing the world the way things should be done.
