"Only place I know" is the first single off Svedberg & The Hillside Stranglers' upcoming album "City serenade", due out March 28 via . The vocals don't do much for me, but I dig the band and the arrangement. RIYL Boy Omega, Isolation Years.
Svedberg & The Hillside StranglersThis band is way too talented to be this boring, yet here they are and here am I, barely able to make it through their 5-song debut. I think they probably want to sound something like Firewater with their "clever" folksy rock, world-music influences and "profound" lyrics, but they really need to stop taking themselves so seriously and stop trying so damn hard. The ability is there, it's just not clicking.
