My friend Johan G Winther (Tsukimono, Scraps of Tape) will be releasing a super-limited 8" lathe-cut EP via with unique artwork for each and every copy supplied by the small circle of folks who manage to purchase a copy (of which I hope to be a part of). Read more about the project here: http://timecanvas.wordpress.com/2011/10/27/upcoming-releases/
It's a Trap!'s own Jonas Appelqvist filling in for Mattias Alkberg with Scraps of Tape on "Flera meter kort" at the band's releasefest in Malmö this past weekend. Awesome!
Here we go, the long-promised video from Scraps of Tape filmed during the band's artwork photo shoot last June. How many Malmö friends in the audience do you recognize?
The full tracklist and cover art for the upcoming Scraps of Tape album "Resident flux" has been revealed: http://scrapsoftape.wordpress.com/2011/10/06/370/
As mentioned before, the band will be doing a few dates in Germany (and at home) to support the release of the album, due out October 26 via .
Scraps of Tape has officially launched their new record label/production company/artistic collective , their first release being the new SoT 7" single "Flera meter kort": http://scrapsoftape.wordpress.com/the-noble-beast-of-malmo/
Look for new releases from various constellations of the SoT membership in the not-so-distant future, both musical and otherwise.
At long last available for public consumption, the new Scraps of Tape single "Flera meter kort" featuring guest vocals from Mattias Alkberg of The Bear Quartet/MABD. Said tune will be released on a digital 3-song EP and 4-song 7" on August 15 and can be preordered here: http://tenderversion.com/store2008/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=59
Otherwise, look for the band's new full-length album "Resident flux" to be released in late October with many, many more fine guest vocal contributions from a plethora of artists.
Scraps of Tape will be doing a special art-exhibit/photo-shoot/live-show/video-shoot at Gallery Krets in Malmö on June 17. It's free, but your likeness may be preserved for all eternity as part of the band's documentation of said evening, though that may mean you'll be the world's next big YouTube star (for a moment). Anyhow, there will also be cheap refreshments and the band will premiere some new tunes from the upcoming album and there may even be some extra-special guests. It all goes down at 18:00 and again: it's free. Can't lose.
Swedish postrockers Scraps of Tape didn't play out much in 2010, but they've lined up four extra-special German gigs for November at their favorite venues/cities:
11/10 - Az Conni, Dresden
11/11 - Schokoladen, Berlin
11/12 - Cairo, Würzburg
11/13 - Steinbruch, Duisburg
These won't just be regular shows though -- the band has compiled a special limited edition record featuring live versions of new songs plus various b-sides from their most recent album "Grand letdown" and will be giving copies away to the first 50 attendees at each show. And they won't be available anywhere else either, as they're only pressing 200. The band will be doing some special limited-edition posters and t-shirts though, so even latecomers don't go away empty-handed. Scraps also say they'll also only be playing material from "Grand letdown" plus some new songs off the record yet to come -- the one they are currently in the process of writing.
