Norwegian black-metal act Khold has signed with Tabu Recordings and will see their new album "Krek" released in Europe on October 10. Khold was previously signed to Moonfog, the label run by Satyr of Satyricon.

Iron Maiden was defeated 8-1 in a friendly football match (that's soccer to us Yanks) against a Norwegian all-star team featuring musicians Sigurd Vongraven (Satyricon), Hank von Helvete (Turbonegro), Dan Thunderbird and HP Baarlie (Backstreet Girls) and Diesel Dahl (TNT) alongside many other real pro athletes. Satyr of Satyricon reports that he will be co-producing the upcoming Thorns album with his longtime friend Snorre and will reportedly also be lending some of his vocals to the recording again as well. He's also started the pre-production/songwriting process for a new Satyricon album and hopes to enter the studio in late summer to record.

After a few years of silence, Norway's Gehenna is back with a new album entitled "WW". Look for it to be released sometime this coming spring via Moonfog Records, the label run by Satyr of Satyricon.

Remember, they're one of the many fine acts on the "It's a trap reader's companion" compilation and they've been collecting a bounty of awards and nominations these past few weeks for their newest album "Smugglers". I shouldn't have to say it again, but it's an amazing record and I'm sure it'll be getting some sort of international release in the very near future.

Satyricon tour guitarists Steinar Gundersen and Arnt Gronbech have been released on bail and have returned home to Norway following their being brought up on drug and sexual assault charges in Canada. They are currently awaiting a new hearing date and will return to Toronto at that time.

Gronbech (also both in Spiral Architect) have been charged with rape in Canada.
