Leif Jordansson soundtracks another SVT show, 'De halvt dolda' gets DVD release

Leif Jordansson, the artist I posted about yesterday, did the soundtrack for the forthcoming SVT program "Icy Riders" which will premiere on February 15. Also keep an eye out for the "De halvt dolda" DVD to appear in late March.

MP3: Leif Jordansson - Dörrar

It is impossible to get a comprehensive view of Leif Jordansson's soundtrack for the SVT miniseries "De halvt dolda" through a single track as almost every piece is a short, self-enclosed work, so I won't even try. But I will provide you with one snippet that I found particularly evocative. Listen for the moment at the minute mark where the horn note gets suspended and smeared downwards as the cello takes the lead -- it's such a disheartening, unnerving sound, especially given the organic instrumentation. The chord changes hint at the darkness to come as the piece builds, but they don't properly prepare you for that lingering pause and the awful, crushing descent. I get a shiver every time.

New label: Brus & Knaster

Göran Petersson from Bonnier Amigo and photographer Johan Månsson have started a new label together called Brus & Knaster. The first release from the label is the soundtrack for the SVT program "De halvt dolda" (composed by Leif Jordansson) and it will be followed by new records from artists such as Nina Ramsby collaborating with US artist Brent Hunter, Tore Berger, House of Tomidas (ft. Britta Persson) and jazz bassist Torbjörn Zetterberg's pop project Folke. Read more: http://www.musikindustrin.se/artikel/365/Nya_brus___knaster_i_Playgrounds_katalog.html (in Swedish)
