Last Days of April has signed with Sonic Management in the US who I assume will be working extra hard to get the band a proper record deal in the States. More info to come.

Karl Larsson of Last Days of April reports that he has just finished recording his first solo album "Safe as milk". The nine-track album is due out mid-June via Bad Taste Records.

I guess I'd label this emo-pop as it's in the same vein of bands like Jimmy Eat World or maybe Last Days of April. They're quite good at what they do, but that doesn't mean I have to like it as my tolerance for this over-saturated genre is quite low these days. Being said, I was mostly unimpressed the first time I heard this, but it's growing on me the more I listen mostly thanks to the near-perfect drumming of Hans Svensson.

Last Days of April will be releasing the new single "Live the end" in October. In other news, the band will finally rerelease the "Henrik" 7" and their self-titled album later this month. "Henrik" will now be available as a 3" CD and both new discs will now include one unreleased bonus track apiece.

Last Days of April is set to headline the Bay Beats Festival in Singapore on July 18. Check out the flyer: http://www.awake.com.sg/images/gig/BBposter.jpg

In what's looking to be one of the best festival lineups in Sweden this summer (IMO, of course), the Blow Up a Panda Festival has now added [ingenting], The Baboon Show, Shout Out Louds, Unisex, Sons Of Cyrus and The Knife and Ape to the lineup. Other acts already confirmed include KVLR, Ellis the Vacuumchild, Tiger Lou, Last Days of April, Switchblade, Suburban Kids with Biblical Names, The End Will Be Kicks, C.Aarmé and more. So who wants to fly me out? Details: http://www.blowupapanda.se/

Lots of pics from all sorts of bands like Soundtrack of Our Lives, Whyte Seeds, Turbonegro, Last Days of April and more up from the Rock im Park Festival in Germany at Rockfoto.nu.

John Calabrese of Danko Jones will be filling in on bass for labelmates Last Days of April at their shows at the Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals in Germany this coming weekend.

The most recent releases from Logh and Last Days of April are now available in the mailorder department. Sure, Bad Taste will get US distro at the end of the summer, but why wait? And why pay import prices? Buy now!

When Last Days of April arrive in Japan today they will be greeted by a team of documentary filmakers from NHK (the Japanese equivalent of BBC). Previous subjects of the documentary series have included musical celebs such as Elvis Costello, Gene Simmons and Jimmy Page. After that, it's five days of promotion and a sold out show at the Astro Hall in Tokyo on May 24. Not bad, eh? The track "It's On Everything" was also the first single in the history of College Radio Japan at North Wave to reach number one in the charts before the album was released. The video is also on rotation at Space Shower, Japan's MTV equivalent.

Starting in late June, Sweden's Bad Taste Records will finally be distributed in North America through Nail. About time! But if you can't hold out, I'll be getting a number of titles in the mailorder department from Logh and Last Days of April very shortly. I'm not taking official preorders or anything like that, just keep checking back or shoot me an email if you want titles set aside for you. Otherwise, LDOA's most recent album "If you lose it" will eventually see a proper US release around September, but I don't have any more details than that.
