Swedish singer/songwriter Juni Järvi (ex-Juniper aka Mikael Bengtsson) reports that work on his debut album is going well and it should be ready in time for an April album release with the first single dropping in February.

Mikael is working on duet with Jenny Kellerman from Dexter's Moon called "You-turn". I'm not sure when and where this song will be released, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out.

Juniper aka Swedish singer/songwriter Mikael Bengtsson has changed his name to Juni Järvi since there's an American Christian rock duo with the former title. No need for unnecessary confusion, right? Anyhow, he's booked a couple dates in Canada for mid-July and here's the details:

07/12 - Studio 112, St John, NB (CAN)
07/16 - The Capital, Fredericton, NB (CAN)

There might be more dates confirmed later on and I'll do my best to keep you posted. Download the brand new song "If we just want to" right here: http://www.juniper.scorpionshops.com/juniper-if_we_just_want_to.mp3

Singer-songwriter Juniper crafts here two little gems that foresees some beautiful songs in the future. Much like many of the (dumbest genre name ever) new folk movement, Juniper goes back to roots of simple acoustics and almost-cracking-but-just-shy voice that make it so engaging. Let's hope he continues on this path.
