The new In Flames album has wrapped up mixing at Tonteknik in Umeå and will now be called "Come clarity", not the aforementioned "Crawl through knives". It comes out this fall via Nuclear Blast.
Today's classic tune comes from the heyday of the Gothenburg melodic death-metal scene in the mid-90s. Sacrilege only existed for a few years, but they managed to release two excellent albums in that short time. The debut "Lost in the beauty you slay" was quite good, but the second album "The fifth season" showed a tremendous amount of growth for a young band in only a year's time and the song I've posted is the lead-off track from that release. Sadly, this band never got a chance to go any further as drummer/vocalist Daniel Svensson was recruited by In Flames in 1997, effectively ending their career. 'Tis a shame because who knows how far they could've gone? Regardless, it's still holds up as one of the best works from that fledgling era of the scene. I believe that you can still find the Century Media 2xCD reissue of both albums that they put out in 2002. Trust me, it's worth tracking down.
