Rumor has it that Andy McCoy of Hanoi Rocks has been asked to fill in for legendary late guitarist Johnny Thunders at the upcoming New York Dolls reunion shows in June. Izzy Stradlin (Guns n' Roses) was originally slated as the man for the job, but he supposedly backed out once he heard there might be plans for more extensive gigging beyond the one-off festival appearance announced so far. We shall see...

Legendary Finnish hard-rockers Hanoi Rocks have enlisted guitarist Steve Klasson from Sweden's Diamond Dogs to fill in for departed member Costello. The band is currently working on a single for Finland and an EP for Japan to be released later this summer.

The Hellacopters have signed a deal with US label Liquor and Poker Music, the same people who put out the recent Hanoi Rocks album on these shores. Look for a proper domestic release of the most recent album "By The Grace Of God" coming soon, as well as the "Cream of the Crap! Vol. 2" b-sides and rarities collection. The US version of "BTGOG" will also include two bonus tracks, two videos and an EPK (electronic press kit).

The latest Aquarius Records new arrivals list features the latest Björn Olsson album as a highlight of the week, as well as reviews and samples for Necrofrost, Crowpath, Culpeper's Orchard (not Nordic, but one of Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth's favorite bands), Hanoi Rocks, Henry Fiat's Open Sore, Keep Of Kalessin and tons more: http://www.aquariusrecords.org/cat/newest.html

Michael Monroe, soloartist and frontman of Finland's Hanoi Rocks, just recently did one of the infamous 20 questions with... sessions on the Metal Sludge Webzine in which he talked a lot about the 80s and his past relationships with bands like Guns n' Roses and Mötley Crüe. Of course, he wasn't too kind about the titling of the new Crüe box-set "Music To Crash Your Car To" since Hanoi drummer Razzle was killed in a drunken driving accident with singer Vince Neil. No surprise there, right? Anyhow, Nikki Sixx felt he had to weigh in on the situation and posted a rather venomous response on the message board.
