Viewing posts 61-75 out of 80The Great Deceiver recently completed work on a video for the song "Lake of Sulphur" from the band's second album "Terra Incognito", due out in March through Peaceville Records. The clip was filmed at The Revolver Ranch in the Arizona desert with director Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Lacuna Coil). As mentioned here before, TGD features vocalist Tomas Lindberg (Disfear, ex-At the Gates) along with Kristian Wahlin and Hans Nilsson from Diabolique.

Puffball has come out of hibernation and posted the following update on their website:
"So what has happened and why this long silence in this forum for the band, on the stage and recordingwise? Ok, the last performance from the Fab Four was in Finspång in early September, we set the stage on fire as usual (haha) and had a good time as usual (this time no joke!) with the Finspång mafia, Disfear, Victims etc. Pretty shortly after that ol' P-O Axegrinder had a bizarre carpet-cutter accident at work and got his left hand in a plaster and unuseable for guitarplaying for 1,5 months, something Forsko used smoothly to his advantage and escaped Sweden to get married with his longtime girlfriend Malin in New York. Crippled guitarplayers and runaway drummers are not ideal for an active rockband so Puffball was on hold for awhile until all weddingpartying and fingerrecovery had been done. This pretty much leads us to right now and for the record, the status on the other two Puffballers are that Tossa used this time to rehearse with his asskicking classic rock band The Russian 5 (and they did a great gig at Taj Mahal, Västerås on Christmas day, shame on you who missed it!) and Linkan has probably used this time to further improve his pc/xbox/ps2 gameplaying skills... Anyway, we should all be back rehearsing and coming up with new highspeed rifforama in early 2004. That's the plan!"

Swedish thrashers The Crown will be entering the studio on January 2 to mix the new version of the album "Crowned in Terror" with returned vocalist Johan Lindstrand redoing the parts originally sung by Tomas Lindberg (ex-At the Gates, Disfear, etc). Look for an early 2004 release on Metal Blade Records.
Swedish crustcore act Disfear will have their latest album "Misanthropic Generation" released on vinyl through Feral Ward Records, the label of Yannick from Portland, OR based band Tragedy. The new edition will feature a cover of the song "Hycklarfolket" from classic Swedish crust band No Security. Disfear also just put out a new 7" for the track "Powerload" through Spain's Throne Records. That release contains exclusive b-sides of "The Age of Conflict" as well as them covering "Med En Halsning Fran Helvete" from yet another classic Swedish crust band, Bombanfall.
As mentioned before, Disfear was recently joined by Entombed guitarist Uffe Cederlund on second guitar. He'll be doing double duty with both bands on the 'Close-Up Made Us Do It' tour which kicks off today in Sundsvall, Sweden.
Happy turkey-day to all you Americans! Here's just a short update on a few things today:
Dead Frog Records has signed the band Waver. You might've heard em before, as their song "The Things You Told Me" was featured in the 2002 movie "Den Osynlige" (The Invisible). Bandmember Andreas Alfredsson also composed the score. The duo, which is made up of songwriter/musician/producer Alfredsson and singer/songwriter Josefina Andersson, is said to utilize "sweeping melodies and delicate guitar lines" that sound like "the soundtrack to Swedish winters." But don't take the official bio's word for it, download some songs yourself right here: http://www.deadfrogrecords.com/artists/waver/
The group has been busy recording throughout the past year at numerous studios around Sweden, including Umeå's famous Tonteknik Recordings and plan to release their debut album for DFR in April, 2004.
Entombed guitarist Uffe Cederlund has joined Disfear on second guitar. That means he'll be doing double duty with both bands during the Close-Up Made Us Do It tour which kicks off on December 3 and also features Raised Fist. As mentioned before, Disfear is another in the long line of dis-core bands (see Discharge) and features ex-At the Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg.
The Great Deceiver will release their second album "Terra Incognito" next March throughthe UK's Peaceville Records. The band features vocalist Tomas Lindberg (ex-The Crown, At the Gates, currently with Lock Up, Disfear, etc.) and guitarist Kristian Wahlin (ex-Diabolique, Grotesque) recorded the new CD at Dug-Out studio in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, etc.) and are currently working on a video for the track "Lake Of Sulphur" with director Patric Ulleaus (Dimmu Borgir, Ace of Base, Transport League). And lastly, as mentioned here before, the band will be heading out on the road with wannabe Swedish metallers Darkest Hour. Dates:
