New Black Audio out now

Been awhile since we've heard anything new from Finnish blues weirdos Black Audio, but now they're back with a new LP on If Society called "Endurator": http://www.ifsociety.com/item/black_audio-endurator-lp

Live At WAH (We Are Home) is a new Finland-based website capturing relaxed live music performances on video at their office in Tampere: http://live.wah.fi/
Artists featured so far include Pintandwefall, Dungen, Jukka Ässä (Tapes, Tigerbombs) and Ville Pirinen (Black Audio) with upcoming videos from Tomutonttu, Jaakko & Jay, Cosmobile and more on the way.

In other If Society news, the label promises that Viola's long-awaited remix album "Melancholy disco 2" will be ready by Christmas or they'll start selling the band's backcatalog for 1 EUR apiece. Finnish noise/art/garage/whatever-rockers Black Audio will release their new album "Catapult" via their own label Musapojat on August 15.

Elite Finnish label Musapojat has released a new EP from Anssi Kasitonni & Kovat piipussa, a group that I'm lead to believe in a sideproject of Black Audio. At least, I assume that's the case as they have new samples and details on Black Audio's website: http://www.blaudio.net/

If Society

Despite the fact that plenty of attempts at combining singer/songwriter folk and electronica have been done in the past few years, very few have been successful. Black Audio, despite having a more electric side to their music, fit in with many of those unsuccessful bands. There is a lot of influences in there but the dominant is Dylan, in his various forms, and combined with the uninteresting electronics they produce, it makes for a very painful listen. The idea is good, the execution just sucks.

Just got a shipment of CDs from If Society which included the new disc "Iron rhino" from Black Audio. Good stuff, as to be expected from that label. Also included were a bunch of If Society/Vendlus samplers soooo I'm throwing 'em in for free with all new orders. First come, first served so act fast if you want one.
