Dissection has revealed that their upcoming single will be called "Maha Kali", described by the band as "a hymn to the wrathful black hindu goddess of Mahapralaya, the great dissolution of cosmos, Jai Maha Kali." The initial release will only be available directly from the band, either at live shows on tour or purchased online via the website.

The Cumshots gave in and will pay the fine levied by authorities for the live-sex act that went on during the group's Quart Festival performance. Rather than spend who-knows-how-much battling it out in courts, they ponied up the NOK 10,000 ($1,485) due and will get on with their lives. Environmental activists and sex performer Tommy Hol Ellingsen called them puny cowards and promises to continue talking shit for backing down. Sigh.

To celebrate their 15-year anniversary as a band, Impaled Nazarene plans to record three shows in Italy between September 17 and September 19 for use on an upcoming live album. The band is currently rehearsing a 'best-of' set consistting of 28-30 songs spanning the group's entire career.

Is it so wrong for me to take pleasure in this? The Rasmus left the stage at this weekend's Redding festival amidst a barrage of mud and bottles after just one song. Even though the single "In the shadows" was quite a hit in the UK, they obviously didn't do enough to win over the notoriously merciless and fickle crowd.

Some news from The Ricochets:

We are now preparing for our European tour starting 29th of September.Next week we´re gonna work in the studio with some new songs that we will try out on you on the tour. Trond has been writing some new stories from his life. Where the first album "Slo-mo suicide" was about him moving to Oslo and the how life was treating (or threatening) him there, and the second album "The ghost of our love" was about one girl he couldn't have, and at last made him leave Oslo for good and move back to his mother in his hometown Fredrikstad, where he now works as a cook and where he found true love at last, the new material will be about .....well you have to wait and hear. You have all something to look forward to. I guess we will play between four to six new songs. The next record will be expected summer/autumn next year.
