The always-busy Jasper TX (aka Dag Rosenqvist) reports that he's currently working on an album together with Danish poet Bue Nordström entitled "Replica Archipelago" to be released on October 8 via Bokbandet. There will be a record release show at Göteborgs Konstmuseum on October 9. In other news, there's also a soundtrack in the works for Dutch filmaker Juriaan Booijs' new work "Conformists" written together with Simon Scott (ex-Slowdive), a double-disc collection of OOP 3" CDRs with new remixes/cover versions via UK-based label Under the Spire and, lastly (for now), a European tour in the works for November. Danish pop act Alphabeat will release their new album "The spell" on October 19. The first single and title track is out August 31.
Fever Ray's next single will be for the track "Seven" and will be released on October 5. As always, a huge assortment of artists have been lined up to provide remixes including Crookers, Martyn, CSS, Marcel Dettman, Seth Troxler and Nicolas Chacona. Fellow Swede Johan Renck will direct the video.
The new Asha Ali album will be out October 7.
The Zune LA Space will be hosting a six-day exhibition of Mewseum, a gallery showcasing the visual art of Mew. It will run from August 29 through September 3 and will include a live performance from the band on the 31st. More details: https://mewsite.com/mewseum
Danish duo The Storm (ex-Mew, Swan Lee) will release their sophomore album "Black luck" on October 12.
Pulverised Records has signed Göteborg-based metal act The Cold Existence. The band will be recording a new album with producer Peter Lausten later this year for release in early 2010.
Swedish punkrockers have started recording songs for their upcoming 10" which will be released via Pirates Press. It will be half originals and half covers, something like 6-7 songs total.
Theodor Jensen (The Plan, Broder Daniel) has confirmed his forthcoming solo debut "Tough love" will be released on September 2 via Razzia Records.
Via PSL comes word of a new Swedish supergroup of sorts called Tutankamon featuring Adam Olénius (Shout Out Louds), Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn and John), Daniel Värjö (The Concretes) and Niklas Korssell (The Plan). Norwegian artist Jenny Hval, perhaps better known as Rockettothesky, has written a novel entitled "Perlebryggeriet" ("Perle Brewery"?) which will be released in October.
