mandorla is currently being promoted as m>"the Swedish equivalent to The Beach Boys"m> according to some unnamed journalist and it's not too hard to see why once you hear the lush vocal harmonies on "Heartbeats away from my love", the band's new single off the forthcoming album "Based on an idea by...". They're obviously not doing too much to break new ground here, but there is certainly something to be said for the craftsmanship that goes into absolutely nailing it, and nail it they certainly do. No idea exactly when the record will be out, but they are saying sometime in march.

Spoon Train announces upcoming releases

Norwegian indie label Spoon Train Audio has announced that they will be releasing the upcoming Einar Stray album "Chiaroscuro" on February 7 and the new album "Lifting ships" from Casa murilo on February 28.

The Crypt to reissue A Canorous Quintet

Dark Symphonies/The Crypt will be reissuing A Canorous Quintet's full discography including their '93 demo "The time of autumn" on vinyl for what I believe will be the very first time. The band's two full-lengths ("Silence of the world beyond" and "The only pure hate") were both originally released on No Fashion in '96 and '98 respectively with the EP "As tears" preceding both in '95 via Chaos Records.
