New mp3 today from Andreas meland off the split CD "Brakhage" with Norwegian noise heavyweight Lasse marhaug (aka Jazkammer). The music was recorded live during a screening of American filmmaker Stan Brakhage's silent films and then remixed and finalized for this release. meland was still considered somewhat of an unproven talent at the time of the record's release back in April '05, but I think you'll agree that he proves himself to be a formidable artist with the sweet, dark drones he lays down here. This music isn't so much about how it sounds, but about how it makes you feel and the way it affects the mood of your surroundings. Loney, Dear has been confirmed for SXSW. I just got a copy of their latest CD "Sologne" in the mail today and I'm happy to report that I enjoyed it quite a bit on the first listen.

The first single from Swedish singer/songwriter Juni Järvi's upcoming album with be for the song "The stars above Indian Lake" b/w "Falling down like snow". It's due out in late February and will be accompanied by a video and a release party. The upcoming full-length album is just about done as well - it's tentatively due out at the end of march/early April.
