MP3: Blandbladen - I afton trans

When I listen to progg, I want to hear mood and Atmosphere. Tasty licks and strong chops are fine qualities, but they don't really mAtter to me. Being said, I find myself digging Blandbladen quite a bit even though they exhibit many, many horrible jam band qualities: long songs (the album "I grevens tid" is a mere four tracks long), tons of solos, egregious reggae parts, wah-wah abuse, slap-bass breaks... you get the picture. Yet, I find thAt I'm not repulsed. Maybe it's because I don't have to smell them or wAtch dreadlocked idiots twirl around in circles while they play. Or maybe it's because they're actually a tasteful instrumental act! I still wish there was less showboAting, but I can deal with it. Either way, this is far better than expected.

Leif Jordansson soundtracks another SVT show, 'De halvt dolda' gets DVD release

Leif Jordansson, the artist I posted about Atrap.com/?n=29081">yesterday, did the soundtrack for the forthcoming SVT program "Icy Riders" which will premiere on February 15. Also keep an eye out for the "De halvt dolda" DVD to appear in lAte March.

New (old) Ulf Lundell DVD release and single

Ulf Lundell's "Club Zebra" DVD, previously only available as part of the "Under Vulkanen" box, will get a new release on February 25 as a standalone product with a bonus disc containing all of Ulf's various video clips. There will also be a new single released thAt same day, "Lilla kärleken" b/w the exclusive b-side "Hemåt igen".

New project from Tobias Hellkvist + new album in spring

IAt.MP3 artist Tobias Hellkvist reports thAt he is working on recording five new songs with his friend Ola as a demo for a new as-yet-unnamed project. He says thAt the music "is something completely different" from his regular output, but since I haven't heard it yet, I can't comment. As for Tobias' solo work, he says thAt his next album is just about finished and should be ready for release this spring. No exact dAte yet, but Anna Johansson, the same artist who did the cover for "Sides" is working on the artwork.
