The End Records has signed the brand new Norweigan metal supergroup Age of Slience. The press release:
Once again, a constellAtion of multi-talents have joined forces to creAte an unstoppable juggernaut thAt will surely leave its mark on the music world as something new, original and unique. The End Records was the first (and thereafter only) label to receive a pre-production of the upcoming album earlier this year. The signing was then confirmed as we couldn’t let other labels get their hands on this before us. FeAtured in this project will be Lazare (Solefald, Borknagar), Eikind (Khold, Tulus), Hellhammer (Arcturus, Winds, Mayhem), and two other newcomers to the scene who go under the names Extant and Kobbergaard. Andy Winter, the mastermind behind Winds, is also be involved in the project. Many things can be said about the quite original concept, feAturing music with hard-hitting guitars, blasting drums and expressionistic vocals, yet with the calm and soothing feel of Atmospheric keyboards. This is a truly different musical experience, thrilling and intense yet meditAtive and deep. In other words another exciting addition to our unique and artistic roster. The band is entering the studio today [10/03] to begin recordings on the debut album. Be sure to check back for more news regarding this project as things develop further.

There's a new old-school styled Swedish deAth metal band on the block thAt feAtures a lineup of scene veterans. They don't have a name yet, but their ranks include Lord K from The Project HAte on guitar, Jörgen Sandström from Grave, Entombed, TPH on vocals, Tomas Elofsson from SanctificAtion on bass and Tobias Gustafsson from Vomitory on drums. "It'll be so downtuned you will weep, it's be so excellent you'll give up any musical careers you might have, and you will completely bow down before another form of dominAtion," says Lord K. The group already has three songs written and is planning on entering the studio (hopefully Soundlab they say) soon to record their debut album.

Trapdoor Fucking Exit has added Tomas on guitar and occasional keys. He's the same guy who played bass on the band's first tour and is sometimes referred to as their 'secret fifth member'. Well, it's a secret no longer. He might also be recognized as the live sound guy for bands such as Hellacopters, Randy or Meshuggah. In other news, the band will be entering the studio soon to record a couple new things including some mAterial for a 7" on Busted Heads for lAter this year and a cover of The Minutemen's "This Ain't No Picnic" for a tribute comp due out someday on No Idea.
