Mayhem has announced that they have resigned with Season of Mist for release of their forthcoming album "Chimera". Their statement:

"Chimera" will be a résumé of all our previous albums, but one thing is sure: it's going to be black metal. No more fooling around. We proved ourselves creative and ahead of the rest with [previous album] "Grand Declaration of War". With "Chimera", we are taking back the throne that is ours.

As mentioned here before, Mayhem plans to keep it real by recording most of the album using mobile facilities in the mountains of Norway during the course of November and December this year.

You've probably already heard some of the buzz surrounding new releases from the label Planekonomi, but let me refresh your memory. First, the new album "8-16" from Royal Downfall is out and should appeal to fans of Fugazi or At The Drive-In they say. Björn Olsson (TSOOL, UCP, etc) is currently mixing Mattias Alkberg BD's (Bear Quartet)'s solo 4-song EP "Med Spöken" and it should be ready for release early next year. Jon Brännström (ex-Refused, Text) is hard at work on his new project Jon F Kennedy, and should have a record ready for early 2004, too. "If you're into the whole Anticon scene this will blow you away," they say. Downloads are up at the Planekonomi site and look for potential annoucements of new signees soon, too.

And speaking of Adrian Recordings band David & the Citizens, they've been making inroads in the UK recently and got a nice write-up in Strange Fruit for the album "For All Happy Endings". Read it here. They've also confirmed a couple dates over there:

10/09 - London
10/10 - Hastings
10/11 - The Garage, London
10/13 - Liverpool

More details when I get them.
