Finnish 'sonic architects' Jazzkammer have a new record called "Pulse" coming out on the Germany label Bottrop-Boy. Here's the details:

"Pulse" was recorded in Singapore during the SARS-crisis in april of 2003. It was inspired by a theatre piece of the same title that they were working on at the same time, though the music on the CD does not resemble that of the play. The album "Pulse" is a single beautiful 32-minute piece; its basic structure is a drifting electronic drone that slowly unfolds and mutates, with subtle layers of location recordings and vinyl-static adding color and depth. Like last year's "Pancakes", "Pulse" has a cinematic feel to it, a feeling that is further enhanced by the photos of acclaimed photographer Yuen Chee Wai that grace the cover and 12-page booklet.

I can now confirm that Norway's Motorpsycho is set to play Japan as part of the "Hyakkiyakou" 2003 festival which is organized by Japanese act Qurili. More info: https://quruli.d4k.net/hyakki2003.html (in Japanese)

Other Norweigans set to play Japan soon include Askil Holm who will be doing some in-stores and acoustic gigs in the near future, as well as Cato Salsa Experience who will be coming over with Moony Suzuki.

Backyard Babies have confirmed the release date for their new single "Minus Celsius" on October 22. The album "Stockholm Syndrome" drops on November 5 in Scandinavia, the rest of the world after New Year's. Tour plans are in the works, but nothing's confirmed yet. I'll keep an eye out.

Niklas from nicolaidunger.tk recently got a chance to preview the new Nicolai Dunger album that he recorded with Mercury Rev and this is what he had to say:

"Yesterday I and Joakim were invited to listen to a couple of tracks from the forthcoming album. We didn’t know what to expect since Mercury Rev has produced it but a lot of it sounded really good. It’s a pretty wide album with different types of songs, poppy ones and more traditional sounding ones that we’re used to when it comes to Nicolai. Of course the more traditional ones sounded best at the moment but I’m sure I’ll love the other ones too when I’ve gotten the chance to listen to them a few more times. I’m really looking forward to the release which probably will be at the end of January."

He also adds news that the single "Hunger" will not be released on October 8 as originally planned, but rather will be available on the upcoming tour and will then hit stores in November.

Dogbreath Records has joined forces with the label Mecapo Records under the banner of Dogbreath Entertainment. The first release from the new consolidated effort will be Mistie's new album "10 Times Guilty", due out in December. The label has also taken in three acts from Canadian label Indiestructable Records for release in Sweden, but we don't care about Canucks here so I ain't saying any more. Go here for the details.

Also coming soon from Dolores is the debut single "Baton Rogue" from Göteborg's The Kid. Cover art is here. More info soon, they say.
