Swedish-born/Norway-residing artist Karin Park will be making her UK live debut on August 18 at The Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch, London. Though I know her primarily as a successful pop artist (as I'm sure is the same for many others), apparently she's decided to take a left-turn with her new, far more experimental album "Tiger dreams" which was recorded with producer Christoffer Berg (The Knife, Fever Ray, Little Dragon) and will be out in September. Check out the video for the title track here: https://vimeo.com/26911844
Kinda weird to watch a screen capture of this video when Katzenjammer's site is MIA and other locations are locked down, but fans will make do with what they can. Look for their new album "A kiss before you go" to be released on September 9.
I am not and will never be a fan of Pavement, but don't let that stop you from previewing Astrid Swan's new Pavement cover album "Hits (Pavement for girls)" which is now available for streaming in its entirety at SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/soliti/sets/astrid-swan-hits-pavement-for/
The new album "The lone descent" from Danish dark-folk act Of the Wand & the Moon has been confirmed for release on September 12 and it will include the above tune "Absence" as well as the superb, previously-released Xmas single "We are dust". More here: https://gaffa.dk/nyhed/51560 (in Danish)
Suicide-style minimalism as performed by Stockholm-via-Gävle bedroom act Nervnest. Shame that the other tunes I checked out are nowhere near as good as this, but then again, most acts don't even get that far.
Premium Swedish noiserockers EL-SD have officially joined forces with (Traktor) for the release of an upcoming 4-song 7" EP. No exact release date has been set yet, but they say to expect it around October and, if the rough mix samples I've heard so far are any indication, it will seriously rule all.
