Timo Räisinen will be breaking off from his work as a member of Her Majesty and Håkan Hellström's backing band to release a solo album. It will be called "Lovers are lonely" and should be out in February with a single later this fall.

Finnish experimental music and visual art label Abflug has signed an international distribution deal with Germany's Nexus Distribution.

Bad Taste Records has announced the signing of Quit Your Dayjob, the first new Swedish band on the label since Logh was picked up three years ago. The three-piece band from Malmö previously released an 8-track mini-CD earlier this year on I Made This Records which will be reissued by Bad Taste internationally on October 25. Here's how they describe the band:

With a twangy guitar, a synthesizer way past its due date and snotty drums sounding like the B-52's on 45 rpm; the record makes The Cramps sound like Devo in a wheelchair.

Denmark's Lampshade has signed with Glitterhouse Records. The band is described as "a collision of noise rock, sad core, emo and dreamish post rock" and their new album "Because trees can fly" will be released internationally in November.
