As mentioned before, the band's new Christian Falk-produced album is due out in April.
Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt will be filling on vocal duties with his old classic death-metal sideproject Bloodbath when they make their live debut at Wacken Open Air this year. The group will perform material from all of their albums including "Nightmares made flesh" which featured Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) on vox. In other Opeth-related news, the band will enter Fascination Street Studios with engineer Jens Bogren on March 15 to begin recording their next album. There's no confirmed label yet, but the group is said to be courting offers from numerous labels. And lastly, the band has confirmed a US tour this summer and will be revealing details soon.

New mp3 today from Stockholm-based act The State of Floral Beings. These guys take a multitude of genres, throw 'em all in a blender, and come out at the end with a puree of damaged art-rock. It's hard to choose a song from an album when the songs can be so different from track to track, but I especially dig this one because I'm just a sucker for vocoder and a heavy bassline. From electro to post-punk to drum-and-bass to industrial rock, these guys do it all. They're like a bastardized, trashy, punk-rock version of Nine Inch Nails. The vocals even approximate Trent at times, and I mean that in the best possible way. Definitely worth checking out.
