Guitarist Johannes Ylinen of Finland's Deep Insight was involved in an accident yesterday during the band's gig at The Vale Club in Glasgow. Apparently he leaped from the stage and fell onto his collarbone. But despite the injury, the show must go on and the band will continue their tour.

While I'm not blown away by his record as a whole, it does contain a couple genuine pop gems. His self-titled debut comes out in the UK on August 22 via Mercury Records.

Burst has completed work on their new album "Origo" and have confirmed that Relapse will release it on October 17 in the UK, October 24 in Europe and Japan and finally, in February 2006 in North America. Look for the band to tour the UK in October with Europe to follow in November. Dates so far:

10/25 - Barfly, Glasgow
10/26 - Academy, Birmingham
10/27 - Barfly, London

Norwegian singer/songwriter Kenneth Ishak of Beezewax will be doing a few selected dates on the East Coast in October and is currently seeking out booking help. If you can lend a hand in any way, please get a hold of me and I'll pass along the information. Also, if there's any drummers out there who want to play with the band on these dates, please let me know.

Jens Lekman reports that he recorded a new DVD-EP this past weekend around Kullaberg, an inactive volcano and wildlife sanctuary on Sweden's southwestern coast. Songs recorded include "Your arms around me", "The rain has got to fall", and "Happy birthday to shame" along with covers of "O Caroline" by Matching Mole and "A little lost" by Arthur Russels. All material was recorded live and Sarah from El Perro Del Mar helped out with some vocals on a few songs. As to how/when this will be released, that's still undecided.

Psychopunch will soon enter the studio to record their next album "Kamikaze Love Reducer" for eventual release via Silverdust Records.
