Fenêtre Records and How Is Annie are teaming up to release Beneva vs. Clark Nova's second album "Dramatic dada" in May/June. Also on the way from Fenêtre is another collaborative compilation release with the NY-based jazz label Loyal Label run by Norwegian bassist/expat Eivind Opsvik. No word yet on who's confirmed for that one, but I'll keep you posted.

Expect a release by the end of the week?
New on Combat Rock Industry: Atom Notes, featuring members from Finnish luminaries Manifesto Jukebox, Endstand, Abduktio, Deathbed, etc. Hear two songs at myspace and wait for the debut 7" in May. Also on the way in the label's classic punk 7" reissue series, Ratsia's "Taalta tulee yo" and Lama's "Totuus Loytyy Kaurapuurosta". Again, out in May.
Kranium Records (Nitad) is putting out a split 7" featuring Swedish crusties Makabert Fynd (ex-Doberman Cult) and Stockholm oldsters Nice Idiot under the banner "Fuck your scene, kid volume 1". No release date as far as I know, but there will only be 250 copies so keep your eyes peeled and be on the lookout for further volumes in the series.

Swedish DVD Magazine UZI has a new issue out and it's a special feature on legendary Swedish artist Björn Olsson, a man who's not only known for his prestigious solo work, but also for playing with bands such as Union Carbide Productions and The Soundtrack of Our Lives and producing many, many fine records (The Bear Quartet, Håkan Hellström and Mando Diao are but a few of the artists he's worked with). Norwegian pop artist Bertine Zetlitz reports that she is now not just the proud mother of a baby boy named Finn, but also hard at work on her next album. She says she's been working on new material with a friend and will soon have enough songs for a full album.

Umeå-based retro-rockers The Crystal Caravan have confirmed that their long-awaited self-titled debut album will be released on April 3 via recently resurrected local label Garageland Records. And keeping it local, the record was produced by Dennis Lyxzén (The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Refused) and mixed/mastered by Pelle Henricsson (too many credits to mention) at Tonteknik. There will be a record release show that night at Scharinska Villan and Dennis will DJ in addition to a full-band performance.
And speaking of Scharinska and Garageland, I understand that the record store is moving to the basement of the Pink House and will be operating with extended evening hours in an attempt to drum up more business. Best of luck to them -- it's tough times out there for retailers.
