MP3: Haust - Ride the relapse
In terms of mood, this is the exact opposite of m/mp3.php?t=755">yesterday's post. I've been stoked on all the samples I've heard of Haust for awhile, but only just recently managed to track down mp3s of "Ride the relapse". I originally planned on picking up a CD at their m/mp3.php?t=735">ill-fated show in CPH, but it wasn't meant to be, though it appears to be working out for the best in the end since I'm much more excited about grabbing a copy on vinyl when it's released next month. But enough of my product fetishism, let's talk music! m/blahg/2008/06/17/haust-ride-the-relapse-cd/">As Aversionline pointed out not too long ago, the band takes a myriad of influences and twists it into some of the most vicious hardcore sludge I've heard in awhile. I've talked a bit about how I feel like bad vibes are the new zeitgeist and this is the perfect illustration as far as I'm concerned. What better way to describe the dystopian state of the world than with this sort of harsh noise? The more I pay attention to the news, the better this sounds. Ride the relapse, indeed! Get with the times and get angry.
Wolfbrigade will be doing a split 7" with UK-based death-metal act Benediction on Feto Records. It will be limited to 2000 copies with 500 being issued as a picture disc and will feature two exclusive (I think) tracks from each band.
In other Wolfbrigade news, their US label Profane Existence has decided to close up shop which means that the release of upcoming album "Comalive" has been cancelled and their planned US tour is up in the air. The band is currently considering their options and is working hard at figuring out something to make it happen, but nothing has been decided yet. And for you crusties who might care, PE's magazine will still publish as usual and the upcoming releases from fellow Swedish acts Imperial Leather and massmord will go as planned.
