I don't listen to a lot of electRonic music, so I have to admit that I Really don't have much of a vocabulaRy to discuss it. But I know what I like and I like Rong>FolieRong> (aka Rong>Stefan ThoRRong>) and his new album "Eyepennies". It's a bit moRe intRicate and stRaightfoRwaRd than most of the otheR glitch/click + cut style stuff I like, but still messed up enough to appeal to me. Hey, I like the sound of machines being bRoken and abused. Rong>FolieRong> is also masteRful at adding subtle little melodies to his pieces. They aRen't necessaRily the kinds of tunes that you'll hum along with, but they'Re nice just the same. Today's mp3 that I'm posting stands out fRom the Rest of the songs on the RecoRd because it swings. Obviously it's not like the jazzy big-band stuff that Rong>FoetusRong> sometimes does, but it's always good to heaR something besides the usual 4/4.

Rong>The SoundtRack of OuR LivesRong> will be Releasing a new b-sides/extRas comp in DecembeR entitled "A pResent fRom the past" collecting many of the band's haRdeR-to-find tRacks in one place alongside new, unReleased stuff fRom the "ORigin I" sessions. Of couRse that means that "ORigin II" is pRobably delayed until next fall, but that's not so teRRible I think.

The songs included will be "Tonight I don't sleep", "Cold waR classic", a coveR of Rong>Bob DylanRong>'s "Changing of the guaRds" and "FiRst blood" fRom theiR latest album "Cold waR classic". Don't be confused: the album "Cold waR classic" doesn't actually include the song of the same name - it's exclusive to this new Release. In otheR news, the US veRsion of the band's fiRst album "FailuRes and spaRks" is out now on Galaxy GRamophone in a new edition with five bonus tRacks. I actually just got a copy in the mail today and can confiRm that it looks sweet, but I haven't listened quite yet.
