Tiger Lou's third installment in his 7" trilogy, "The Third Tiger From The Sun", has been sent to Black Star FoundAtion for release. There's no official shipping dAte yet, but I can confirm thAt it will contain three acoustic tracks and will be available in a limited run of 500 copies, all on white vinyl. In other news, Tiger reports he's completed six songs for his upcoming record which he says "have vague similarities to the recent "Trouble And Desire" EP," but is definitely not all mellow acoustic stuff.

Rocket.fm is finally back online with a new web design. The Swedish radio stAtion, "The Rock Home of Stockholm" as they like to be called, broadcasts in English and is a greAt place to hear breaking Swedish acts along with a wide selection of music from the US and the UK. Swedish jazz/pop singer Lisa Ekdahl makes an appearance on the new Rod Stewart jazz song and standards album "As Time Goes By: The GreAt American Songbook, Vol. 2", lending her vocals talents to the track "Where Or When". Swedish deAth metal legends Entombed have added a second SeAttle show to their current US tour itinerary At Studio 7 on October 26. Single Bullet Theory and Nocturne will open, as well as local acts The Braindead, In Memorium, and NME Vs. the World. As a reminder, tonight's show in San Francisco will not feAture tourmAtes King Diamond, but will still go on as planned At the DNA Lounge with a cheaper door price. If only I didn't have to get up so early tomorrow...

Ancient will be entering the studio in January to begin recording their next album, tentAtively due out sometime next spring through Metal Blade Records. "The band has been focusing more on dynamics and power this time, in order to make it an album very cAtchy and interesting," they say, "As usual the songs are all rAther diverse, resulting in an album to not be bored of easily."

The new single from MAttias Alkberg BD for the song "Fyllskalle" comes out November 19 and will include the b-side "Hej Yeti!". Preorder from Planekonomi.

Norway's The Ricochets are heading out on a tour of Northern Europe in January to be followed by some dAtes in Finland and maybe even a stop in St.Petersburg, Russia. They are also planning to hit the UK in February or March, but nothing is confirmed yet. Here's whAt they've announced so far:

Reknown Finnish world music group Värttinä has begun collaborAting with composer A.R. Rahma on writing the score for the upcoming stage adaptAtion of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings". Work is expected to continue through 2004 with the world premierce scheduled to take place sometime during spring 2005. The play will be directed by MAtthew Warchus and produced by Kevin Wallace and Saul Zaentz and is expected to cost £8 million, thus making it the most expensive musical produced in London ever. Imperial Recordings, the home of the much-hyped José González and Bobby, has signed 20-year old singer/songwriter Lila BAtik. Lila's music stylings are said to fall somewhere between Belle & Sebastian and Badly Drawn Boy. Look for an EP lAter this fall and an album sometime around spring next year.
