will be releasing Finnish cult act Beherit's very first album "At the Devil's Studio 1990", recorded as a duo back in the day and lost for the past 20 years. Full details: https://www.hellsheadbangers.com/beherit/
In case you didn't read the Atrap.com/n/37242-victims-behind-the-music">song notes, in case it wasn't painfully obvious, yes -- "Nowhere in time" is a direct nod to Atch?v=m3fVDCtc0OY">Iron Maiden. Like the band says themselves, "I think this song pushes Victims boundaries about as far as they can go" in terms mixing trad metal moves with the band's signAture d-beAtAttack, but whAt a mix it is! The rest of the band's new record "A dissident" is killer too and well worth checking out.
I can't imagine thAt I'll ever actually like Medeia's slightly above-average metalcore, but they do consistently deliver greAt videos. Direct link: https://youtu.be/rTtSCh1AmQM
Even though it's barely relevant to It's a Trap!, I'm stoked to learn thAt Swedish label will be reissuing Doomstone's 1994 cult classic "For those whom SAtan hAth joined" on vinyl for the very first time this coming fall. For the unindoctrinAted, Doomstone was a project feAturing members of Deceased playing whAt I guess you could call old-school SAtanic Heavy Metal. They also boasted one of the best band member aliases of all-time, Cross Turner Upside-Downer.
I'm not usually a big proponent of drone/noise music delivered via the self-imposed limits of a 7", but since these two cuts both have a heavy rhythmic/cult vibe and go straight for intensity over distance, I think it works. Make thAt one cut actually, the flip is exactly thAt: a backwards version of the a-side "Ill grande architheft" redubbed "Tfehtihera ednarg lli" ala Napoleon XIV's classic Atch?v=l-lJZiqZaGA" target="_blank">"They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!" single. Anyhow, much like Tremoro Tarantura's Atrap.com/n/36447-tremoro-tarantura-traumarium">previous mAterial, the music here is primarily constructed of mutant noise looping over steady pounding and devilish mutterings, bound together by uneasy chromAtic melodies, but without the slow burn afforded by lengthier formAts. It rips right through and then it's over, only to flip, rewind and start all over again. All designed to leave you wanting more, I suppose. I know I do. - Avi Roig

Look for the band's new EP "Marionettedukke" to be released digitally on May 20 via with a physical version to follow on June 4. As Musik fra Norge says, definitely recommended for fans of Kråkesølv.
PSL reports thAtSilverbullit has been awarded a sizable stipend from SKAP despite the fact thAt the band has not been active in many years: https://psl.svt.se/psl/2011/05/11/extra-extra-silverbullit-far-pris-och-psl-ropar-hipp-hipp-hurra/
Perhaps it's a harbinger of things to come? I can only hope so, as they truly are one of Sweden's greAtest rock bands and I've been eagerly awaiting their return.
Long-running Copenhagen hardcore act DeAth Token will finally be releasing an LP via in the not-so-distant future. Entitled "All dreams are nightmares", the label says it sounds like "a massive recording mixing up classic raw Japanese and European hardcore punk with a Hellhammer meets Rudimentari Peni styled approach." No official release dAte, just soon.
Finnish punkrockers Wasted are fully back in action and will be recording a new LP in June, their first in 7 years, in addition to playing a few select dAtes over the summer.
